What in the fuck? No WiiWare or VC games this week? God damn 3DS...

It's not really that I don't have enough to play or anything, especially with my new 3D toy, but here's the way I see it. Every week past the initial release that FF3 doesn't come out, our odds get worse and worse that it WILL come out. Like, there was a 75% chance it'd come out the week right after. Then a 50% chance this week. Then even lower next week, etc.

Okay, so it doesn't actually work that way, but it sure feels like it. Developers like to forget about the VC entirely, sometimes for years at a time (Kirby Super Star).

Kirby's SS baffled me, because didn't it come out on the VC after the DS remake?

@anon_mastermind What does the 3DS have to do with anything!? If anything Nintendo would consider the DS a bigger competition, but it still got two games.

It has everything to do with the 3DS. Reggie has said that Nintendo is focusing entirely on the 3DS and Pokemon, and this just confirms it. DSiWare is not a competition, because people know they can download those and transfer them to 3DS anyway. VC and WiiWare are purposely being shunned this week, so that Nintendo consumers focus on their new handheld, and its software. That much is obvious, I think.

I agree. I've noticed that any time Nintendo has a big game release, they tend to shun VC and WiiWare for that week. It makes business sense, since they want as much focus on their new products as possible.

@anon_mastermind But... people buying DSiWare games right now could keep them from making the jump to the next handheld right away.

I kind of have a conspiracy theory that DSiWare isn't available on the 3DS yet so that people are forced to buy expensive retail launch games.

Also, I am looking forward to trying out Dart Raaaaage.

Blegh. Since Nintendo is incapable of releasing anything else during a system launch though, it's not too surprising.

Was actually expecting Nintendo to pull a Pilotwings 64 surprise on us. Like they did with Super Metroid the week of Prime 3.
