I'd love to take credit for the existence of this game, as in my
Chasing Aurora review I noted that I wouldn't mind seeing the engine return. And I've definitely posted before about how the Chasing Aurora engine would be great in a more action / adventure type game. However, I can't actually take any credit here, because apparently SECRETS OF RĘTIKON has been in development since before Chasing Aurora was even announced.
Some details:
-for "anyone who has ever dreamed of flying"
-in development since 2011, simultaneous with Chasing Aurora
-control a small light entity
-set in the alpine mountains, unlock the secrets of the world around you
-find remnants of an ancient civilization
-set your own pace, accessible to various skill levels and styles
-animals interact with the player and with each other
-some kind of combat system
It's still a bit vague as to what the goals of the player will be, but it seems like it will be a bit meatier of a single player experience than Chasing Aurora was.
Platforms have not yet been announced, but considering the simultaneous development I think that a Wii U release can be expected. Check out
Broken Rules' development log for more details and images.
