Happy New Year! The first episode of the Negative World Podcast for 2014 has released! It's a doozy too! Packed full of content, Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) are joined by, Andrew (Zero) for another 150+ minute episode.
After the 90 or so minutes of that, there's an hour-long discussion of the old Super Mario cartoons from the early 1990s. The gang remembers, reflects, rejoices, and re-considers what worked or didn't work in the three different cartoon series' that hit the US shores back then. They also fondly remember Captain Lou Albano and 'Danny Wells'. This discussion is an extension of the special audio treat found in Episode 57 of the show. With that said, Andrew has prepared a finessed version of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show theme song as performed by our beloved Negative World members. Be sure to give it a listen, whether in the episode or via the download link below.
A big thanks to Zero for the theme music as usual. This episode showcases some classic tracks from Super Mario World in the interludes.

1.) I LOL'd when Stephen mentioned how my advise to get your game on during the holidays is just to play your 3DS. Hey, it's solid advice!
2.) The Negative World remix version of the 'Super Mario Brothers Super Show' into song by Andrew was excellent.
3.) Kind of surprised that no one mentioned how the 'Super Mario Brothers Super Show' is available for streaming on Netflix. No need to hunt down DVDs, fellas! Just stream it!
4.) Speaking of Nintendo cartoons, did anyone ever see the 'Donkey Kong Country' TV show? I saw one episode and I wasn't impressed.
5.) Finally, on the topic of modern Nintendo cartoons on TV...how come no one mentioned Pokémon? The show's a hit, and is still rolling out new episodes even now!

That's a good point. I didn't think about that. I actually even like the PKMN anime!!
Much like Toad, it's pretty much impossible for me to talk and not sound like I'm constantly whining.
Hmm. Anyway, about the Super Show sound effects, I can tell you this much... while remaking the theme song I went and downloaded some Super Mario Bros. sound effects and they turned out to be the exact same effects already being used in the theme song so... at least as far as the theme song is concerned, they pulled directly from the original game's sound effects.
