The Annual RFN Telethon for Child's Play - This Saturday! ($500 to force me to play Majora's Mask))

For the third year, RFN will be podcasting live on November 10th to raise money for charity. The more people donate, the more tiers are unlocked and the longer the event is.

In past years, I've usually been unable to listen live, but the recorded podcast has always been a lot of fun to listen to. This year, obviously, I had to make myself available for this grand event! I will be doing the first hour with the regular RFN crew, and then helping Michael TYP Cole with live Nintendo Radio Trivia (guess the game, win prizes!).

Right after that, at 4p EST, NWR's own Famicast crew will be podcasting about games in Japan with none other than Giant Bomb's 8-4 Play crew!

Craig Harris has confirmed his participation, though in which segment, I don't know yet. Many more guests will be revealed over the coming days so if you listen to gaming podcasts, keep checking the thread to see if an idol of yours will show up! And if you don't listen to gaming podcasts, well, maybe you'll discover podcasters you like.

You can donate right now, and keep in mind, while we want as many people as possible listening to RFN Live, we'll try and record them to release them in podcast form in the future so no one misses out on anything. So donate!

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

I supported last year and I'll support again. At best I can only usually listen to a small bit of it live, but at least there's the podcasts. Looking forward to it.

Latest guest revealed: Brad Shoemaker, the one guy at GiantBomb who's really into Nintendo!

You taunt me by having a podcast and having Brad on there. YOU TAUNT ME GREATLY.

I think Brad Shoemaker's the guy who did an endurance run of Deadly Premonition, and really, really sucked at it

@X-pert74 Any time Brad does anything on camera, he really really sucks at it. It's hilarious and infuriating at the same time. I love it!

And now Garnett Lee has been confirmed. He might take calls.

Well, that's about it, folks. If you don't recognize any of the guests' names, then I guess you don't listen to podcasts. Which is fine.

Sounds like you have quite a few good guests lined up. Especially the 8-4 guys.

If the entire thing will be released as a podcast, how do you expect me to listen to a several hours long show when I have a hard enough time as is getting through my 10-15 hours of podcasts each week?

Alright, well I guess this will be a final update before I bump this on the day of the event itself.

I won't be on the first hour after all, instead they'll have Brad Shoemaker, Lindemann, Jeff Kalles (former producer at Nintendo) and Jonny talk about "Wii U Hype".

I will be on at 1p EST talking about Metroid Prime, that's the segment Garnett Lee is on. It's almost MP's 10th anniversary!

I will be on the segment after that, Radio Trivia. Always fun. Win prizes!

And I'll be on the last segment at 8p if we make it there: Shenanigans. I'm guessing that if you want to call and heckle me, that will be the perfect time.

Alright! I hope you guys tune in.

@Guillaume

That's awesome that you're on with Garnett Lee. As a big fan of 1up Yours, I'd say you're pretty darn lucky. Good luck.

David Ellis is now going to be part of the Metroid Prime discussion. It's starting to become a 1up Yours mini reunion!

@Guillaume

Don't let anyone talk about how influential Metroid Prime was on Bioshock while ignoring System Shock.

I really wish there were other ways to donate besides PayPal. For some reason PayPal will never let me use my Visa card.

@Jargon Bioshock only had like 1/10th of the Metroidish progression that Metroid Prime had, so... fair enough.
