Woah! Game of the Weekend seems to imply that this will be a recurring thing. Way to go, Nintendo!

Even without 8-Bit Summer coming up, I'd be pretty satisfied this week. Two solid eShop games, a demo, plus DSiWare. And a sale on VVVVVV? Buy that shit right now. (Actually you should probably wait till the sale starts... but once it does buy that shit right then.)

@Jargon

That's what I'm thinking, and that's a brilliant promotion. VVVVVV at $4.99 is a steal. It's still one of my top most-played games on my 3DS.

Yea, if I didn't have it on PC already I would jump at that. Nintendo just might convince me to buy my first eShop game. I'm a sucker for sales.

Yeah I got a notification on my 3DS that weekend sales are going to be a thing going forward.

I'm cool with that!

A pretty good week for the eShop! Two good looking games and a sale on a super awesome game that everyone should buy.

@Jargon It is, confirmed, somewhere or other.

I was thinking about buying VVVVVV, so the timing of the sale is perfect.

Looks like I'm picking up VVVVVV!

If I haven't bought VVVVVV before, I would probably buy it now. I agree with Zero.The game is excellent.

Sales aside, I'm not really interested in this month's goodies. Wait, is Marvel Pinball 3D from the same creators of Zen Pinball 3D?

Yes.

This is a good week. I'd jump on VVVVVV if I didn't already own the PC version, which I'll never play.

Bomb Monkey could be good, but I just found a used copy of Meteos for 6 bucks, and it seems like the better puzzle game. Marvel Pinball should be good, especially on a 3DS XL, however, the marvel-specific tables never interested me that much. Downloading the Rhythm Thief demo as soon as I get home, can't wait for that game!

And a nice couple of 200-point DSiWare games. If DSiWare is going to live on, I'd be ok with it if all the games are in this price range as an alternative to meatier eShop games.

So after trying the Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure demo, I'm DEFINITELY gonna add it to my "must buy" list. I love me some kooky, quirky rhythm games with good, fun music. And this game fits that bill to a T.

I just hope the game's challenge increases in the final release. I was able to get "Rhythm King" rankings on each of the events in the demo fairly easily. That may be due to my vast experience with Elite Beat Agents, but it was really the only slightly disappointing thing about it. Everything else was FABULOUS.

@Jargon

Sarcasm or are we really celebrating that Nintendo finally figured something out that the rest of the gaming world has know for the better part of the last decade?

Hey, if it's good news, it's good news. It's worth celebrating.

Pinball for me. Yes, please.

VVVVVV is a great game, fellas. It is definitely worth the asking price. I'm a little upset with the Zen Pinball folks- if you already have Zen Pinball, the X-Men Pinball should just be a 3.00 download extra.
