"Ripe with the addictive stench of the classic RUNNER gameplay, Runner2 cuts the cheese with a new art style, Retro Challenges featuring music by Disasterpeace and an endless scroll of gameplay features, costumes and playable characters" -@MikeNRoush

"After announcing Runner2 for XBLA & PSN, we got so much incredible hate mail from our Nintendo fan base that we had to release this game for Wii U under fear of death!" -@AlexNoisy

Score! Bit.Trip Runner is the only Bit.Trip game I really loved. I will own this indeed.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. I mean, they already kind of confirmed it without confirming it in the past, but it is good to get official confirmation.

Retro screen looks neat.

Neuse answered some questions over on the Runner2 blog:

Although where's the 4x4 retro font? That's just the standard 8-bit font on that retro challenge. And the Commander's sprite looks different from his usual pixellated appearance...

@VinLAURiA, we're goin' in a new direction with the retro stuff this time around, to keep in line with the new stylings of the non-retro aspects. Trust us, once you see this in motion, you won't miss the old and blocky as much.

I think Sega gonna sue ya'll for stealing Wonder Boy graphics (referring to the above screenshot).

@Chris, GAH! Crap, we missed our mark I guess! We were hoping to get sued by Hudson for stealing the Adventure Island graphics! But I guess we'll accept getting sued by Sega if we have to be sued by someone.

Think you can make launch?

@Secret_Tunnel, we're gonna try our damnedest! But we will not sacrifice the quality of the game to hit launch.
