2011 Club Nintendo Rewards Announced. Prepared to be severely disappointed.

Nintendo of America has just announced their Platinum and Gold Rewards for Club Nintendo Members for the year of 2011. A lot of people were expecting some cool Zelda figure or maybe a game. Instead we get pins. Yes, you read that right, pins. I'm very disappointed by this. In my opinion, pins should be a Purchasable Reward not the Grand Prize. What do you think of these prizes? Sound of in the comments section below.

Platinum: Pin badge collection
Gold: 2012 Calendar

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

I sure hope they do. This is the first time I've achieved platinum status, so I hope it's something worthwhile.

Did they announce the prize on July 1st last year? I recall it taking several weeks before we knew what we were getting (and then months before we got it).

I'm still hoping for a surprise announcement of Zelda All-Stars for either the Wii or 3DS. If not a figure Legend of Zelda figure like the Mario one would be awesome too.

Yep. Last year it was announced on the first. We got the prizes around November.

How about a Xenoblade/Last Story/ Pandora's Tower (steel case) box set...

If they even came close they'd make us choose 1 of the 3. Give a little and then break all our hearts in having to choose.

Yeah...not happening.

I tried it and it is a technical possibility. Not one that you could actually get into by accident I'd have to believe.

GIfts have been announced:

Platinum: Pin badge collection
Gold: 2012 Calendar

Next to last year's statue this is super lame.

I am soooooooo disappointed right now. Besides the whole Operation Rainfall debacle, this has got to be one of Nintendo's most anticlimactic announcements ever. I feel like when they announced Lego City Stories for the Wii U. I can't believe this is the Platinum gift for this year. I'm going back to bed now to try to forget this ever happened. Seriously.

I thought it would be the Snes Classic controller for you guys this year. The pin badges are pretty lacklustre.

I almost redeemed the Calendar instead. I will be selling these on EBay. Crappy reward.

Cool, I like pin badges. Esp. anything that is free, one cannot really complain about it. I'll just add them to the rest of all my Nintendo collectible stuff.

Everything about Nintendo in America is shit. I think I'd probably be better off importing a European Wii U at this point.

Those pins are pretty awesome. Blooper pin!

@X-pert74

When I lived in Europe I got to spend my Club Nintendo coins on free Wii Points. Sadly European Virtual Console games don't work on my American TV, but still, it felt great.

Pins are ok I guess...

I made platinum 2 years ago and got the Mario Hat - It's still a great prize. I was only able to make Gold Status last year and got the calendar while everyone else got the little figure set... I was sad...

Now it's Pins. I did so many surveys to try and reach platinum this year (I did) and reached it thanks to Zelda (3DS).... I wanted something more. Yes it's free..but c'mon maaaaaaan. I probably won't even reach gold next year.... I just know that Platinum next year will rock. Or at this rate..maybe it will be a rock.
