It's a game that would easily crack my Top 100 DS Games of All Time, if there were such a list: Glory Days 2, the sequel to the GBA game Super Army Wars, is a hybrid multiplayer title that brings back the fun of Wings of Fury with the tactics of Armor Alley. Two games you probably never heard of, either.
The creator of Glory Days 2 is set to release a new game in the series as a digital download for DSiWare: Glory Days: Tactical Defense. The game looks to bring the Glory Days design into a single player tower defense experience, utilizing the clever tile-based, 60 frames per second 3D engine that the developer created for the riotously fun Pop Island series released earlier this year.
What's more, it looks like Odenis Studio is bringing the epic soundtrack that made the original Glory Days design so darn, well, epic.
There's currently no release date or price announced on Glory Days: Tactical Defense, but expect to download this game to your Nintendo DSi (or even 3DS in DSi mode) in early 2011.
Personally, I think this is great news. I agree with Craig on this one. I never played the GBA game, but I own the DS game Glory Days 2 and it's pretty good stuff. Having a new DSiWare game available is fantastic news to me. Kinda sad there's going to be a long wait for it, but hey. Good things come to those who wait, yes?
I just vastly prefer games with direct control, personally. Action-Response stuff. I'm an arcade guy. That's why I've never been big on RPGs or RTSseses. Or The Sims.
Speaking of which, I hope you've been playing Ivy The Kiwi? lately. Holy crap that game is awesome. And the music is surprisingly epic, deeper into the adventure.
That game is like, all action, all the time. Whenever I play it, I think to myself, "Anand would probably love this."
Not yet. Just the demo. It was pretty fun. I almost picked it up during the B2G1F sale. I'm sure I'll get it eventually. Which version did you grab? Aren't there, like, FOUR?
