Why not sign up for a (free) account?

How's the Atelier games? Never played one of them. This latest one doesn't seem to be perfectly optimized for the Switch from what I've gathered from watching some short clips here and there, but it seems relaxed and cosy.

Clusterpuck has definite potential. I'm also interested in Sengoku 3.

Allegedly the ACA version of Punch-Out!! was supposed to hit the eShop today. But I haven’t seen it, and it wasn’t in the press release. Anyone got any insight or info on the situation?

@GameDadGrant
It's up on the PAL eShop. Don't think it was advertised as one of the upcoming games over here, but I did get a news notification about it being available earlier today. Should probably get that.

EDIT: Unrelated to this week's releases, but this is currently featured as an upcoming game on the eShop over here.

For absolute fuck's sake, Nintendo. Get your curating shit together, because this is the kind of stuff that shouldn't even have made through Steam Greenlight. I thought it was pathetic when Sony allowed this game to be released on the PS4, and it's even more pathetic now. It's an absolute hack job of a game, and judging by the footage I've seen on YouTube it's barely playable. Nintendo did well in not giving RCMADIAX a platform on the Switch, and they should have treated this the same way. What the fuck.

@GameDadGrant
Yeah, I just noticed this. What the helllll.

Also, is Lode Runner up? I'm definitely getting that.

@r_hjort
They don't seem to be curating strictly anymore. Damon Baker said that they're still curating, though. But I think the floodgates are nearly open.

@GameDadGrant

I think the announcement was just for the Japanese eShop. According to Nintendo's Japanese website, it did release today. I think we're still waiting on a release date for North America and Europe.

@Anand
The fools! THE FOOLS!!!

I can only hope the ridiculous price will keep people away from this specific game, but then again it would be all the more tragic if someone does end up buying it for 40 euro or whatever.

@Octorockin
It's available for purchase in Europe right now.

@r_hjort

I'm not sure how I missed that info in your post. I was distracted by that firefighter game!

I was just checking my Switch's news feed and saw that Punch-Out!! has been made available in North America too. I'm definitely going to check it out.

@Octorockin
Yet another reason Nintendo's lax curation is harmful!

@Anand

From what I understand, NoA is serious about curating, but Nintendo of Europe will let everything pass through, so lots of devs who hit a wall with NoA just get around them through that vector.

SHIBATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

I love when NoE gives us brilliant games like CiNG's games, or the Operation Rainfall RPGs and stuff like that, but this is going too far.

@r_hjort A game about firefighting could be interesting, I don't really see that done. But I take it the game doesn't work? Bit of a shame.

@Mop it up
There are a couple of 16-bit firefighting games that are meant to be good, actually. The one that's supposed to be the best is The Firemen, which was sadly never released in the US, and is super rare in the EU at the moment. Never played it myself, but I'll snag a copy if one ever comes along.

This particular game does work in the sense that it runs, but no real effort has been put in anywhere. I haven't played it myself, but I had something of a fascination with it for being so bad, watched videos and read reviews of it. Everyone seems to be pretty much in agreement that it's not a game that anyone should charge money for. Poor quality stock assets and textures, barely existent animation, shoddy framerate, clipping and collision detection issues, enormous empty environments without anything to do or interact with, and fire effects and controls so bad that it's apparently close to impossible to identify - let alone put out - any fires.

@Guillaume
What a weird, three-headed beast. Ah, well, it should be fine, as long as there aren't more than 20 games releasing in a single week. Or however many show up on the new releases page.
