Ooh, Mega Man Zero 4. That completes the series on Wii U. I'll have to pick them all up eventually since I've only played 1 and 2 (and they're probably a lot less frustrating with Restore Points). But I'll probably wait for a sale.

Armillo on sale for $5. Anyone here play that? Any good?

Is the AVGN video game any good? I'm tempted with the big discount.

@nate38

I liked Armillo for what it was. A fun little platformer. I'm pretty sure I got it on sale once upon a time too.

I don't think I've ever played Zero 4?! Might have to get that one.

Have the other Smash characters + stages been $5.99 each? That seems VERY steep.

@Zero Yes, the characters that are bundled with stages (Ryu, Cloud, Bayonetta) are $6. Roy, Lucas, and Mewtwo were all $4. Corrin will be $5, I guess because Corrin is a new character but not bundled with a stage.

I don't think that price is out of line for fighting game DLC, but it certainly adds up if you buy it all.

@Zero
Yeah, although that's for both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the character.

@TriforceBun The price is actually $7 if you want Ryu + Suzaku Castle on both your Wii U and 3DS. DLC pricing page

@nate38
Oh dang. Yeah, it's a tad on the steep side (even though a lot of work goes into it), which is why I'm just getting a few of the DLC guys.

Anyone tally up how much it would be to get all the characters (except MewTwo) and stages for 3DS and Wii U?

Posted by

@Jargon I was already tallying my total Smash-related expenses, so...

All Stage and Character DLC for both versions
$2 -- Pirate Ship stage (Wii U exclusive)
$3 -- Dream Land 64 stage
$3 -- Hyrule Castle 64 stage
$3 -- Peach's Castle 64 stage
$3.50 -- Super Mario Maker stage
$5 -- Mewtwo
$5 -- Lucas
$5 -- Roy
$6 -- Corrin
$7 -- Ryu + Suzaku Castle
$7 -- Cloud + Midgar
$7 -- Bayonetta + Umbra Clock Tower

$56.50 (plus tax if applicable) for all character and stage DLC for both versions.
Minus $5 for Mewtwo, so that would be $51.50 to get everything else.

@nate38 See that's what I mean, like, I know it is DLC so it's going to be a bit more expensive, but when a handful of characters and stages costs nearly the same as a whole brand new game... meh.

@Zero I rationalize it by adding the DLC to the cost of the base game and taking it all as one expensive package. Including the base game, DLC, and peripherals, I've spent about $200 on Smash 3DS/Wii U (plus another $100 on Smash-related gifts for others...). But considering I've played and totally enjoyed the game for hundreds and hundreds of hours (and will probably end up in the thousands before the next version comes out), it's still worth it for me.

Yea, at that cost I might as well wait and see if there's some kind of Game of the Year edition or whatever with all of the DLC. It would cost close to the same, plus would probably include the Mii hats. Of course I couldn't resell my copy since I got it digitally. Better yet would be a bundle sale where I could get everything for $30 or something. Or maybe there'll be an NX version with all the DLC.

I hope I get some eShop cards for Christmas. I haven't bought any Smash DLC but I want pretty much all of it.

@Jargon

I think an NX "ultimate" version might be feasible. I'm not really wild about the idea since it feels like I already bought this game twice.

Yeah, it's actually pretty decent. I bought it at $10, and for half the price, it's an easy sell. I was pleasantly surprised how good it is.

Oh yeah?!? Well, YOU look like some badass, awesome space vessel ready to fly around the galaxy and kill off some "X" parasites from a derelict space station.

hmm, this didn't work out like I planned...
