I think this is where I'll jump into the Monster Hunter series. Thanks for the update.

Maybe put "3DS-only" in the title so Stache doesn't have two consecutive heart attacks.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Should I laugh because it is coming, or should I cry because it is a long ways from now? Never mind, I was under the impression that MH4 was released a while ago and it has only been a few months. An 18 month turnaround is not the end of the world. I don't know if I'll still care by then, however. Maybe Monolith Soft's X will be out by then and it will scratch that itch. Yes, I know they're different genres and that's like comparing Gears of War with Resident Evil 4.

They always pick such weird platforms to put these games out on. 3DS only? MH3U plays like utter trash on the 3DS, just like it played like utter trash on the PSP. GIVE ME A REGULAR ASS FULL CONSOLE RELEASE LIKE THE WII/WII U VERSIONS. Or just do like any fucking company with half a brain and put it on every console and make way more money and stop yankin' everyone around by the dick by switching platforms every other game!

Man, I thought they used Ultimate in the first place to tie it to Wii U. I was ready to go in on this series with a Wii U version of Monster Hunter 4, but looks like it's not happening. nate38 said:Maybe put "3DS-only" in the title so Stache doesn't have two consecutive heart attacks. Agreed. It certainly fooled me and I don't care nearly as much as others.

I figured it would be 3DS only. But I'm glad it will support online play. I was bummed MH3U on the 3DS didn't support that.

This will be my first Monster Hunter game. My body is ready. I do wish they would have released it simultaneously on Wii U though with cross-play support, for Stache's sake... On the other hand maybe this will be the thing that get's Rob to break down and get a 3DS XL, I swear if he would just try the XL with the CPP it might not be as painful as he thinks, it's nearly the size of the WUG when you add the frankenstick, and way bigger than most controllers (360/PS3/etc.)

Dammit! I was like: "OooooOOOHHH!!!! MH4 on the Wii U! Fuuuuuuck yeeaaaahhhhh!!!" Then I saw 3DS only, and I was like: "Awwwww.... bitches!" Getting it still, but dammit, I want it on Wii U. Stache is gonna have a worse reaction.

This series is like the Call of Duty of Japan! One or more every year! Wii U version or no buy.

I feel like Nintendo should be able to make this happen, hey Capcom, here's $20 million, use it to make a Wii U version, we'll publish it and market the hell out of it. Done.

A Wii U version could be announced at a later date, just as the Wii U version of MH3U was.

@deathly_hallowsOr just, "You want your game on the most popular gaming system in Japan? Better put it on Wii U too."

@anon_mastermindTrue dat, Capcom could be waiting until 4G is out in Japan until they announce an "HD" version, in the hopes gamers will double-dip. What worries me though is that the Wii U version of 3 sold a lot less than the 3DS version right? They might not think it's worth their while if everyone in Japan buys it on 3DS anyway. It's really only in the West where the strong anti-handheld sentiment will cost them sales, so it really depends of if either Capcom and/or Nintendo are still dedicated to making MH popular outside of Japan. Jargon said:@deathly_hallows Or just, "You want your game on the most popular gaming system in Japan? Better put it on Wii U too." That might send Capcom straight into the arms of the PS Vita, because you know Sony wants it and is willing to pay heavily.

@anon_mastermind The Wii U version was announced alongside the US release, though.

Wii U version or no buy. This might be the only time in history I defend anything about CoD, especially about each one being "different," but damn, at least every CoD IS different to some extent! I feel like I've played Monster Hunter 3 like fourteen separate times!

@Xbob42 I was mostly referring to being a yearly release, though as someone who's played Call of Duty games only in multiplayer, they're hardly different on that front. The single player modes might be though, I have no idea.

@Xbob42 The handheld versions of these games consistently outsell the console versions, sometimes by very huge margins, and that even includes the PS2 / PSP somehow. 3DS is a pretty obvious choice here. Of course, it will probably come to other platforms eventually.
