A tentatively named racing sim from Slightly Mad Studios. Perhaps one of the biggest videogame kickstart projects, Project CARS is entirely fund-driven by the community, each member having a share of stock in the final product, access to special features that normal folk won't, and the ability to work with the designers on a number of topics. If you're interested in the Beta build on your PC, you can play today and join the race.
With promises of online play and special groups / teams / leagues for your friends and online communities, and the ability to create your own paint jobs ("liveries"), excitement is running wild. The game itself boasts a healthy roster of vehicles, mostly everything ranging from simple karts to stock cars, street modifieds, prototypes, and even the same types of Formula 1-style cars you'd see at the Indy 500. With more models and real-life tracks (under different names) being added every day, Project CARS is sure to be a hit with racing fans and those in favor of deep customization.
