Data East's presentation of chess, but with a twist!

Gone are the plastic pieces that adorn most chess sets as this game puts actual soldiers on the field of play! Little pawns are history, and footsoldiers now pepper the front row of each side. The rules of chess remain intact, but when a player moves for another token, a computerized cutscene takes place (unlike Archon's player-controlled live-action sequence).

Depending on the units involved, the story will be different. For instance, a Pawn taking a Knight results in a groin kick for the advantage, while the Knight-Knight battle sees the victor cut off the arms and legs of his opponent in the style of Monty Pyton. While there is no option to bleed on your opponent to extend the fight, the chance/choice to do so lives in our hearts.
