Developed by Eutechnyx and released under the Activision banner, NASCAR The Game: 2011 is the first in a series of racing games to be headed our way. Built from the ground up, and for an extended period of time after wrangling the exclusive license away from EA, this one promises to be more in depth and exciting than any NASCAR game we've seen before.
The game will tout a full roster of full-time drivers, all 22 Sprint Cup Series tracks (also including Kentucky to be seen for the first time on the circut this year), motion-captured pit stop sequences, and a damage model that they put a lot of time into, and are very proud of. Everything from barrel rolls to tearing sheet metal will pepper the races; if you watch NASCAR for the crashes, it sounds like this game is for you.
Initially reported to have online play (including DLC and leagues), those hopes were dashed later that week. Originally slotted for a release to beat the Daytona 500, after several delays and finally releasing on May 24th, 2011, Wii fans got their first taste of true NASCAR on Nintendo since 2005.
