The e-Reader is a device made by Nintendo (Japan 2001, North America 2002) for use with Game Boy Advance. It has a LED scanner that reads "e-Reader cards", paper cards with specially encoded data printed on them.
Each game in the classic NES series comes in a pack of five cards, each of which must be scanned twice, on both sides.
DK Jr. -e is simply a direct port of the one-player mode of the
NES game.
