Dandara, from Brazilian developer Long Hat House, is a non-linear action game that at first blush looks like a Metroid game, but is actually more inspired by Dark Souls in terms of design, The player collects "Salt" as they kill enemies, which they can cash in at one of various camps (usually located at the entrance of a new area) to improve their character. If you die before making it back to camp, you leave your Salt behind and respawn at the last camp. You have a chance to get it back if you can reach it and collect it at the location of your death, but should you die on the way there, the Salt is lost forever.
