Yeah, so, its out. And nobody knew. Because it isn't Xenoblade or Battlefront.

I think nobody knew because Nintendo seems intent to pretend the game doesn't exist.

I'm not one to put a ton of weight into reviews, but the one GREAT review I read seems a little too apologetic toward how unpolished the game is. Scores dip significantly from there.

Regardless, I'm somewhat interested but I refuse to pay full price.

I have no problem with the silly theme and over-the-top B-movie violence of this game, I think it looks hilarious and awesome.

But I've also read in multiple places that it runs at like 10 fps and that I cannot abide.

Did they fix it for the NA version?

Apparently Gamestop only got 420 copies across the entire USA? Game was sent to die...

Still, I want to pick it up. I feel like I'll enjoy the stupid action game vibe, and the multiplayer is getting a lot of high praise around the interwebs. I'll probably have to download it though, since it's so rare. Normally I would be down, but I want a physical copy because it's gonna keep its resale value and THEN some.

Wow, seriously? I was thinking maybe friday I'd try to trade in some stuff at GS and pick it up, I don't want to but it digitally my fridge is full and I want the option to resell it.

All the bad things I've heard make me weary of this one, so I'd be interested only if it were cheap enough. If it's true that they produced so few copies, it probably won't be getting cheap.

Most of the complaint about Devil's Third come from people who've played Call of Duty and Battlefield, and are dismayed that Devil's Third doesn't follow the CoD/BF formula choosing to make room for (optional 'ugh' here) melee combat.

Japan is extatic about D3rd, seeing as it's more like if you took Ninja Gaiden and added gun-combat, even comparing the multiplayer to Splatoon in its addictiveness.

I'm buying this. Like Splatoon, it looks like a much needed shake-up of the stagnant online shooter formula.

@Dark Weres
I feel like most of the negativity comes from poor performance and glitches, supposedly the frame-rate dips into the teens and never gets much past 20 or 25, but that was the EU version still wondering if they put some semblance of effort into the NA version.

I'll be sure to PLAY it later today, I'll pop in here and give you First Blush.

For those of you waiting with bated breath, I haven't played it yet. Got the store yesterday and noticed the same sheen wasn't coming off of my game as usual. "Dwayne, is this open?" "Yes, THEY GUTTED IT." "..WHY?" "I DON'T KNOW." So on and so on, told him I'm so against it, almost walked away right then, but Phantom Zero was like "Only 420 copies..." and I just scrolled up to find out that Mikey said it instead. (CURSE YOU, P-ZERO)

So I bought a copy that was open, UGH. Opened the case right up, inspected it, and threw the little sleeve back at 'em. I'm not taking that crap home! I'll try to play tonight, but I've got a bunch of TV to watch, so who knows.

That's crazy there is only 420!

Man... I wonder if Nintendo World has any copies?

Playyyyy it!

The game feels kinda like Ninja Gaiden Razor's Edge (and Arkham City to a degree, to me), but not nearly as in depth. You can switch between melee and ranged weapons seamlessly. Its all checkpoint based, and you don't have far to go each time. And it appears the only collectibles are Trophies that you pick up that aren't hidden horribly bad. I found 4/6 and 5/6 respectively on my first two levels, but I can go back and find the ones I missed in a Score Attack mode or whatever.

Any QUESTIONS anywhere?

Framerate? Glitches?
Posted: 12/20/15, 19:10:29

No glitches for me (examples?), and I never recognize framerate stuff, like ever. All kinds of people were bitching about Arkham City, and I was like "....really?"

This is one of the best looking Wii U games, I think. The nipples -- so realistic!
Posted: 12/20/15, 19:51:42
Dude nipples? Or chick nipples?

Also, is this game actually fun? Knowing of its scarcity kind of makes me want it!

As an aside, what a terrible game for GameStop to gut. Oh, GameStop...

Dudenips, of course. Lots of swearing though. Plenty of swearing..

Whats the point of gutting? Theres, like, NOTHING inside anymore. Fake instructions, and the game.

Is the game fun.. I guess? Its pretty mindless, which I tend to enjoy. And there isn't TOO much penalty for dying (that I can tell), you just get restarted from your last checkpoint, which would be like going back to the previous room in a Zelda Dungeon. You don't lose much time. I was fighting a boss guy yesterday and he killed me like 10 times in a row. I didn't even have to work back up to him though, the fight was on! I appreciate that.
