One quick question.... how does the stuff from the demo carry over to the main game? Or does nothing carry over at all? Just need some clarification, thanks.
I'm having the hardest time deciding on what jobs I really want to focus on...and then which subclasses I want to then focus on for each character. It's exciting getting new jobs, but it only further increases my difficulty choosing, heh.
Currently I'm rocking Tiz - Merchant/Knight, Agnes - White Mage/Black Mage, Edea - Spell Fencer/Time Mage(though that's really just a placeholder for now), and Ringabel - Ranger/Thief
The variety of the jobs already has been really impressive, and I still have 13 more I haven't even seen yet!
Same here. I only put a couple hours in the demo (though I did max out the town) and barely scratched the surface of all the job possibilities. I get crippled by too many options. I only just got to the first job options, so hopefully I'll figure it out as I go.
I'm hooked. I just purified the wind crystal. I have Tiz as a fighter, Agnes as a white mage, Ringabel as a black mage, and Edea as a knight. I'll probably turn her or Tiz into a spell fencer once I unlock that class.
I pulled in Vofescaflowne from my friend list, if that's what you mean. I did it through the save dude.
Edit: just put the cartridge in my other system with a bigger friend list and also got kgtennispro and TheOldManFromZelda. Kgtennispro is a bit further than me, to judge by his power. Yikes!
I had Tiz, Edea, and Ringabel all use Specials in the same turn of a boss fight, and since Tiz went last his Special had the stat boosts from the other two stacked with it.
Thanks the explanation. I had to delete the demo (but saved and backed up the data) to make room for the game. I completed the town, but I never got a streetpass, so I never had a population more than 1. Must not have been much to carry over. Would there have been a notification about if you played the demo, here are your prizes?

Whoa, that's pretty much how I set my character's jobs, too!
I just started. Love the environment art, but not much else. Tutorial questing is a brilliant, brilliant idea though.
I'm a little confused about how to use Braves. Since I can brave four times to attack four times in battle, why would I not do that to finish off random battles before the enemies have a chance to attack?

Whoa. I didn't realize that you get to somehow pick the attack that goes along with your character. This game is really impressing me with its clever uses of the system capabilities.
If you can, definitely do it. You get more end battle bonuses for it if you finish it in a turn or don't receive damage. The downside is that doing it immediately upon starting the battle means that your BP will go into the negatives, -4 being the lowest. You recover 1 BP per turn and cannot act until it returns to 0 so if you somehow don't manage to clear out the enemies on that one turn (I'm playing on hard so random battles can definitely pack a punch if unprepared), you'll have to wait 4 turns before you can act again.

I do that all the time. It seems like you're going to have to be MUCH more strategic on bigger battles, though. I think its a cool battle mechanic.
I'm not that far into it but I'm really enjoying it so far. I wish there would've been more Final Fantasy games like this instead of what it turned into.
I'm working on getting to the fire crystal now. I sort of hit a brick wall with leveling up. To get to level ten of a job (at least, I think it's ten) you need over 3000 job points. 3000! Since all of my characters reached level 9 with their primary classes, so I switched them all over to alternate classes for a while. I read on gamefaqs that chapter 5 has enemies that give you 600 job points, so I'll hold off on switching back until then.
I just started playing the game. Love the art direction, 3D depth, music, and play style so far. I love to grind to increase levels and abilities, can't wait to sink my teeth into it more.
