ACen 2013 was only my second time capturing cosplay in photo form (C2E2 2013 being my first) and I feel the same now as I did then; it is essentially a meta game of the convention. Think of it as being a bit like Pokémon Snap. You have to stay constantly alert because you never know where and when these strange creatures (I say this lovingly!) will appear, and when you see one pop out, you need to act fast or you may lose your chance... With the recent release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate for 3DS earlier this year, I figure now is a good time as any to see where the entire Castlevania series stands according to the ratings given by the Negative World community! Over the years, Konami has created true classics spanning many of Nintendo's systems, but which Castlevania games are considered the best? Of course, since our game database only includes games on Nintendo systems (this is a Nintendo site after all), this list will not include Castlevania games from other platforms... (more)

The Zelda franchise is beloved by many. One of the aspects of the franchise that really resonates with me are the expressions given by our protagonist. Link is a character of many talents and is full of courage, wonder, innocence, frustration, laughter...the list goes on and on... (more)

I’m back, and I brought my 3rd party choices with me! Choosing 3rd party characters that I would like to see in Smash Brothers has been both very exciting and nearly impossible. Exciting, because there are so many awesome 3rd party characters on Nintendo platforms to choose from. Impossible, for the very same reason. Although my list is essentially just a list of Andrew favorites, I think that I managed to capture some broader appeal as well... (more)

As any good Nintendo fan knows, Smash Brothers games are currently in development for both the Nintendo Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS, so now seemed like as good of a time as any to put together a wish list of characters that I would like to see appearing in these games... (more)

Most gamers today look fondly back at the period from 1989 to the mid-90s as a golden age for SEGA, with Genesis hardware and software sales simply trouncing Nintendo's 16-bit console, the Super Nintendo (what an original name, huh guys?). The reasons for such a clear and decisive victory are multifaceted, so join me, fellow Segative World readers, as we examine some of the clever tactics and downright genius innovations SEGA utilized to ensure the Genesis would cement its place as one of the greatest consoles. Of. All. Time... (more)

I tried to keep my identity a secret for a long time, but I guess there's no sense in hiding it anymore. I'm pretty much out of the closet, already. Yes, the rumors and whispers are true. I just have to be honest with myself and everyone on Negative World about who I really am... (more)

It’s Valentine’s Day, so that means that it’s time to talk about love. Unfortunately, love is not always as simple as it seems like it should be. In fact, the greatest love can often lead to the greatest tragedy. So let’s take a moment to reflect upon some Nintendo love stories that did not have the happiest of endings... (more)

Virtual Boy. Cel-shaded Zelda. 7.9. There've been some shocking reveals and ruffled feathers in Nintendo's past for sure, but I'd argue that none have been as widely-despised as Ubisoft's recent decision to push back Rayman Legends' release date to September. I'd use the word "controversial" here, but that would imply that people have a variety of opinions on the subject...which frankly, isn't really the case outside of some (read: not most) Ubisoft employees...
