I somehow found myself at a Dave & Buster's yesterday, rubbing elbows with... the heads/shoulders of others. (Seriously, I almost stepped on three kids.) Anyway, the place was pretty dismal, overall. Mostly ticket redemption "games", gigantic arcade-sized ports of moblie games, and licensed Raw Thrills racers/light-gun shooters. But there were a couple of cool cabinets: (more)

So NPD has been limiting the video game sales data they release for the last couple of years. Publishers still release limited data in their press releases (if there's anything positive to mention), but we don't get specific sales data anymore, like we did in the previous period... (more)

So, as everyone here already knows, both Operation Rainfall (Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower) and Operation Moonfall (The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D) were huge successes. We're also looking at a Nintendo which is about to release an updated 3DS with all the features we asked for (and more), a port of Xenoblade (a Rainfall game) for the New 3DS, and they are jumping full on into DLC territory. I'm getting the feeling that Nintendo just decided to actually listen to its fans to see what we wanted, and we are wholeheartedly eating up everything they are throwing at us with a lot of glee. I am super grateful and excited to see what's next... (more)

Hey, I was thinking of doing a poll but there are a lot of new stages and frankly it is tough to just pick one that is the "best", especially if you are like me and just started playing the game a few days ago. Wondering what everyone's favorites are so far though... (more)

Because of the vast library of Mario spinoffs, as well as the universe being featured in Smash Bros., there are many, many opportunities to play as Mario and his friends in a wide variety of games. The amount of characters to choose from can vary, from a smaller selection in most Mario Party games, to the huge roster of Mario Super Sluggers, but staple characters like the Mario brothers themselves, Princesses Peach and Daisy, Yoshi and Toad can be selected in dozens of games... I did Top Tens for both the GBA games and the DS games before and my wishes haven't changed one bit. I want the Castlevania Trilogies for both systems on the Virtual Console... (more)

Tried this for the first time just now. I thought it was pretty cool! I had high hopes for it being an improvement over the Wii Wheel, which I never really got into, because the size of the Gamepad makes it feel more like a steering wheel and allow for more natural control. I only played 50cc so the fact that I managed to come in first and get 3 stars doesn't mean much. I do worry that I won't be able to have the precision necessary to pull off some of the tighter maneuvers like some of the secret path jumps. Maybe I'll have to stick to the analog stick for time trials and real competition, but I'm gonna try to make the full switch... (more)

Hey y'all. I know we've done one of these before, but pending the rumored reveal tomorrow, what would you fine folks like to see in a new Zelda game? Keep in mind please, that this isn't meant to be a discussion of predictions of what we think Zelda Wii U will be, but rather a discussion of what we want it to be... (more)

A few months ago I discovered a game called Lakeview Cabin. I really enjoyed playing it and showing it off to my friends to see what they could discover that I hadn't figured out yet; the game takes place on an incredibly tiny island, but it's jam-packed with interactions and puzzles that can keep you entertained for dozens of playthroughs. When we finally "solved" the game, I seriously jumped out of my chair in celebration. So rewarding!.. (more)
