I was going to limit it to current systems to put the fading generation into perspective, but why not all of them? It'll give us some insight into our fellow members' taste, and perhaps their progression as a gamer (in my case, that should probably be LACK of progression)... (more)

I suppose you can count gifts too, but I'm more interested in games that you decided you wanted and bought and found out were utter fail... (more)

Has this been discussed much yet? I feel like it's pretty important, mostly for one reason: Disappearing Gamecube controller support... (more)

'Cause it sure seems like Nintendo is poised to prove all the naysayers wrong again. It feels like something's in the air. People seem more than ready to buy a new system, and the price seems to be palatable, at least to the savvy gaming consumer. Pre-orders are selling out incredibly fast, which will build hype and demand to stratospheric levels, especially if mainstream news starts reporting it and hyping up TVii. Even if NintendoLand doesn't have QUITE the viral impact of Wii Sports, it'll slowly reveal its charms, since it's a pack-in to the preferred model. Nintendo is also launching with at least one guaranteed megaton game (which looks to be of incredibly high quality, as well), so that should keep the early adopters happy. The Wii U version of BLOPS 2 might just be the best one, due to the sharper graphics and individually-screened co-op. That game will also get users going online right off the bat... (more)

I was just reading another goddamn financial analyst article about how Nintendo still refuses to put their franchises on smartphones and tablets (except for that Pokemon rhythm thing), and it got me thinking. How many of Nintendo's franchises WOULD smoothly transition over to a tilt/touch-based format? Would Mario lose his magic if all of the levels were auto-scrolling? Would F-Zero still be F-Zero with tilt control and automatic acceleration (that's rhetorical, since automatic acceleration should, OF COURSE, be a standard feature on arcade racing games by now)?.. I will let you define "love" however you want, but I'm not talking about the typical backlog most of us have. I'm talking about games that really stood out for you in some way, and you might even call one of your favorite games, but you still didn't finish for one reason or another... (more)

Let's talk creativity and the NSMB series - is it possible to be classic, 100% accessible and truly innovative at the same time?.. (more)

Just curious, after all of this NSMB2 talk. How much is too much? Can a good thing ever become bad? Do you lose anything by playing every other entry? Are most of the complaints coming from a vocal minority, or is franchise fatigue a common sentiment?.. (more)

... but do they really detract? You would think so, judging by NSMB2 reviews. People are really harping on it, but, as long as Nintendo isn't trying to make overall lives a limited resource, who gives a shit?.. (more)
