This was inspired by the Triple Deluxe thread... (more)

So I have a pet theory, regarding the wildly schismatic nature of the Zelda fanbase: People probably aren't disagreeing on the relative qualities of each game. My theory is that they just have different priorities, so they prefer different entries. I mean, is ANYONE going to say that Wind Waker has better puzzles than Twilight Princess?.. (more)

I just finished level 5-4 in the Juicy Jungle of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and it was infuriating. Water levels in this game just aren't that fun. I hate the restriction it places with goofy swimming mechanics. Yes Diddy or Dixie help make swimming a little more tolerable but all in all, when you've lost them at a checkpoint and you have to continue on without, it's just shitty... (more)

I know a lot of people swear by Tetris DS, and The New Tetris gets a lot of praise for its soundtrack too, but there are like a billion others. I'm curious as to which version everyone here likes the most!.. (more)

One of the biggest pieces of news from the recent SSB Direct--and one I think warrants some discussion--is that the 3DS version of SSB is hitting stores this summer, while the Wii U version is slated to arrive at the end of the year. Which is kind of the opposite of what many people were expecting and hoping for... (more)

Let me explain: This thread is to suggest ideas/properties that Nintendo has already laid a lot of the groundwork for that they could easily move to the Wii U without a lot of effort (relatively speaking)... (more)

People are just kind of parroting the whole "Nintendo doesn't get online" thing, but I think something more is going on here. There were a TON of DS games with online play. Quite a few Wii games, as well. Even stupid shoehorned stuff like the tokens in Metroid Prime... (more)

Interested to hear your thoughts. Some of our favorite games can be completed in about 2-3 hours (or maybe 4-5). I personally love these "one shot" games that can be played in one to two sessions. What is it about a great short game that makes it truly great? Does the game have to move briskly? If it has a story, how is it paced any differently than a longer game? How do gameplay elements have to progress to make the game feel truly satisfying?.. (more)

So earlier today, the unfortunate news has broken that Nintendo is shutting down its Wi-Fi Connection service for all Wii/DS games... (more)

Or at least a similar architecture to PS4/Xbone, to allow (MAYBE) more third-party support?.. (more)

I've come to the realization that fighting games fans don't play Nintendo systems. I'm not sure why, but they don't. And the Nintendo fans that do own Nintendo hardware, don't care for the genre. Unless it's Smash Bros. of course, where Nintendo nostalgia and fan-service figuratively burst from the screen. That's irresistible to a Nintendo fan... (more)

A simple question, with a very difficult answer, IMO. Capcom is one of the best developers/publishers in the industry. And they've been a good partner with Nintendo for years, delivering some amazing games and experiences for decades. What would you say is the best we've seen from them?.. (more)
