Super Smash Bros., a franchise which started on the Nintendo 64 in 1999, is the culmination of creativity, technical prowess, and a surplus of creativity. From the characters, to the items, to the modes, and to the stages, Nintendo continues to deliver generation after generation, a game which helps define the gaming generation. One of the most variety-filled aspects to the series has always been the different stages based off the various game franchises found deep within Super Smash Bros. With so many options it's easy for someone to find a favorite but that favorite will certainly vary from gamer to gamer. Thus I took it upon myself to set up this Super Smash Bros. Stages bracket to find out what the culmination of those opinions were and find out which level would be picked by Negative World as the very best in the series up to this point... (more)

Due to an even seven votes each in the Final Four, both Corneria and Great Bay were found locked in a bitter tie. Instead of posting another poll or delaying the final poll, this will be handled by Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. I booted up my physical copy of the game and kept the same rules on which currently exist because of Hero_of_Hyrule's Smash Tournament. What this essentially means is no items. I'll stick the characters on five different stages, but besides the classic Final Destination, the rest will be strictly the Omega versions. This prevents any stage hazards from occurring. The reason for all this too as opposed to another vote is because of the concern where some of the original users re-voting when others simply cannot due to not being on the site for the duration of the quicker voting period. That all said, here are the results of that event... (more)

My alternate title of "Is Bayonetta sexist?!" would probably have gotten way more hits. But nah, not going to go there. I sort of hate articles that ask controversial questions in the title that you know darn well they won't give a definitive answer to... (more)

I suppose that I should begin with a bit of a small disclosure. I am both a video game site owner / writer for the site and an aspiring independent game developer, which puts me in a strange position in the midst of all of the recent talk about journalistic integrity and where the lines should be drawn. Some people want a distinct line between both sides that cannot be crossed, but what happens when you are a part of both sides? I won't get deep into all of that here, but I feel it necessary to point out that, throughout the course of various indie game developer gatherings in Chicago since I started getting into the scene about two years ago, I have met and become friends and acquaintances with many of Chicago's indie game developers, including the organizers of Bit Bash, and I was a volunteer at Bit Bash as well. And now I'm writing about Bit Bash. Journalistic integrity = wrecked... (more)

I was checking through the ACen panel programming and noticed a pretty neat sounding panel called "Create Your Own Mega Man Robot Master!" My first thought was "Who is the super cool and obviously intelligent and (probably?) sexy person who put this panel together?" And then of course I remembered that it was actually me. After my experience at ACen last year I decided to submit my own panel, and it was accepted, so here we are!.. (more)
