And so with the doors firmly shut and the last of the interviews trickling out, E3 2013 goes down as a solid but unsurprising one for Nintendo - largely because a lot of potential game news had already been let out of the bag in recent Nintendo Directs... (more)

I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to watch the Nintendo Direct E3 show live this year, and I know people have brought this sort of thing up in previous years, so I figured I'd make a thread for this. After the show is over, would anyone be so kind as to post a "spoiler-free" link to a recording of it? I know, getting worked up about spoilers of announcements is kind of silly, but I can't help but buy into the showmanship of the whole thing... (more)

Not everything is well in Dream Land. For some mysterious reason, the Dream Spring, a magical well that is the reservoir for all the dreams of the citizens of Dream Land, is no longer working. Everyone is being subjected to their worst nightmares every time they go to sleep. Upon reaching the Dream Spring, Kirby finds out that evil King Dedede has stolen the Star Rod, thus depriving Dream Land of the magical energy that feeds its spring. Using 20 unique tricks and your ability to steal your enemies' powers by swallowing them, you'll have to make your way through a horrific land filled with all kinds of nightmares. Recover the broken pieces of the Star Rod, and everyone in Dream Land will sleep peacefully once again. If you fail, the citizens of Dream Land will be subjected to a lifetime of terrible nightmares... (more)

I thought this was a fun watch. Guy writes a paper on programming a computer to learn how to play Super Mario Bros., and by extension other videogames, by focusing on increasing certain data values in the game. In other words, it's a singleminded, score chasing machine... (more)

DJCutman, an up and coming (I'd say) musician and remixer released a new Album/EP with some pretty nice tracks. It's got a great range of classic Nintendo games, starting with Super Mario 2 and leading into Goldeneye. Personally, the Super Mario 2. Theme is one of my favorite gaming songs ever to be remixed. They're always so good!.. (more)

Harvest Moon (800 Points): You bought the farm, so now it's time to roll up your sleeves and try living off the fat of the land. Fresh air and the beauty of the outdoors will be fulfilling, but a successful farm needs a lot of working capital as well. There are buildings on your property, but they are in need of livestock. You have a modest house, but if things get lonely in the field, it's going to take a remodel to woo a female farming companion. Your challenge is to dig in and build your life as a farmer from the ground up. How you manage will determine the outcome, but remember, you always reap what you sow!.. (more)
