When the Wii console was first announced the philosophy behind it was not only to invite the non-gamer but to encourage its usage for a multitude of activities. In theory the consoleís main screen would have become the gateway to anything you wanted in your daily routine. Showing off photos/movies/music, reading daily headlines, and up to date weather forecasts were the initial items... (more)

Wow what a day, Nintendo really does put on a fantastic event and this was no exception. The event was held at the Arnolfini in Bristol and started with a ten minute tour guided by a few of the trolley dollies Nintendo had obviously hired to keep the mostly male population of guests happy. First in a group of about ten we were taken to a big interactive floor mat meant to showcase the connectivity of the 3DS street pass functionality, as each person stepped on the mat lines were created connecting each person within a certain distance, by the end there were a lot of connections and it was actually quite impressive how much data would be shared. Next we moved on to a live Street Fighter battle between Ryu and Ken before being dragged down a dark area by Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine while being chased by zombies and Baghead with a chainsaw. Then after a brief video by Jonathan Ross it was onto some hands on time with the 3DS... (more)

It's morning. Just after sunrise, and with the cusp of dawn still permeating your eyelids, you arise from your sub-conscience with glee as your little brother awakes you with hopeful news. As anticipated, new data from Nintendo has arrived on your loyal companion, Nintendo 3DS! What could it be? You decide to find out. You open the 3DS...only to gaze at the clock and realize that you need to be on your way out the door! You CANNOT miss this 'appointment'... (more)

Alright, those who know me know that I was a huge fan of Sin & Punishment on N64 (well, Virtual Console in my case) and would always be pestering people to buy it. When I first bought it I was like woah, this is kind of a unique take on the Starfox 64 formula! But admittedly, that game isn't really for everyone. For one, the controls have a huge learning curve. For two, it is very, very short. And uh, well, those are the only two things wrong with it so everyone should buy it anyway. But I guess I can see why it would turn some people off... (more)

In case you have been living in a cave, there is a new game out on the Wii right now. It is called Super Mario Galaxy 2, and it is pretty darn amazing. But I don't have to tell you that, the rest of the Internet is doing a pretty good job of praising the game for me... (more)

They have? Does anyone else feel some serious cognitive dissonance when they hear this mantra repeated over and over again? I'd attribute it to the biases of Western gamers towards Western genres and games (that may or may not be set in the Wild West), but now it seems that many big-name Japanese developers (Inafune, Kojima, Wada, etc.) are just as eager to talk trash about their own community (excluding their products, of course)...
