The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Game Boy, 1993) (and the DX version, Game Boy Color, 1998), like any good Zelda game, holds a special place in Nintendo fans' hearts. The game paved the way for future Zelda games by featuring a deep and unique storyline that in many ways, exceeded the standards set by its predecessor, A Link to the Past. As such, the game has its great moments... (more)

Capcom are the masters of uniting different franchises into their fighting games, sometimes outside their own series, including the ever popular Marvel vs. Capcom lineage. In the case of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, characters and settings from a variety of Japanese animated series (from animation company Tatsunoko) are brought together to test their skills against Capcom's renowned fighters. Does Ken the Eagle have what it takes to take on Ryu? Will Jun the Swan overcome Chun-Li's fantastic lightning kicks emanating from those muscular thighs?.. (more)

Yoshi's abilities were never quite as versatile as Kirby, but with the addition of Super Mario Galaxy 2 to the Mario library, his list of special moves and power-ups continues to grow. Yoshi's repertoire has increased substantially since his Super Mario World debut, and while his long, sticky tongue, combined with egg-making and egg-throwing, is still his most useful and prominent fighting mechanism, it is also a means to facilitate his ability to acquire the moves listed below. In most cases, these special abilities only last for a limited time, so you have to enjoy the fun while it lasts (though you can repeat quite often)... (more)

I think the four unlockable Endless Games in Rhythm Heaven Fever are quite fun, so I was wondering how many of you have given these a try? I've posted my scores below. These are not a serious attempt from me, so I'm sure I can improve! Have you given these games a shot?.. (more)

Nintendo has created a variety of video game ad campaigns over time, some more memorable than others. Looking back on it all, some of these invoke very good memories, so join me as I reminisce a bit… (more)

I love video game music, especially Nintendo music. As far back as I can remember, my passion for games has always been matched by a passion for the music accompanying them. Rather than being something I merely listen to when I have nothing else to enjoy, or only listening when playing a game (ie listening to the music in its 'natural state'), gaming music has, over time, become my primary choice for listening satisfaction. Although I was never a musician (taking violin lessons as a kid doesn't count), I always felt strongly attached to video game music, especially for games that I am passionate about... (more)

I picked these 10 bosses from Nintendo's games based on the fact that I could recall most of them from the Nintendo games I have played, and tried to rank them somehow based on my favorites as well as being memorable experiences. It just comes to show that Nintendo has a strange obsession using floating hands as enemy/ boss encounters in many of their games... (more)

Pac-Man and Galaga are arcade classics synonymous with the words 'video games,' and rightly so: these two titles helped cement Namco's place in gaming history, most notably Pac-Man's iconic status and the countless versions and spin-offs that followed... (more)
