Bought for (basically) the fifth time. I've owned it on NES, still own it on GBA, have it on the Wii VC, the 3D Classic on 3DS, and now this one. In my opinion, it's worth every time. Such a great game, albeit a bit on the easy side.
This game is nice to have in the collection. Not something I'd sink hours and hours into, but a good, quick game to start, quick game to quit if you're waiting on a phone call or something, and as a part of the Kirby series, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Am I the only one who preferred Kirby's Dreamland 2? Maybe it was because I had it first when I was a kid, but I remember getting to Kirby's Adventure and being kind of disappointed. Then again, I have to recognize that a lot of my favorite music tracks in KDL2 were from KA, so I don't think I could say KDL2 had better music.
Wow. How do they justify making the games 50hz at this day and age? I couldn't imagine...it's like playing those games in molasses.
Anywho...This is a fun little game and all, and it was a big step for Kirby, but this is far from my favorite Kirby game, aside from the exceptional soundtrack. None of the powers feel all that fun to use. I prefer Superstar (and from what I've played, Return to Dreamland) where Kirby can do lots of different things with each power.
Kirby also feels a little odd to control in this one. I keep thinking I can just keep tapping jump to float, but I forget I have to hold Up on the D-Pad. A minor gripe but it's taken some getting used to.
I've also forgotten how horribly easy this game is. Some of the levels go by REALLY quickly.
You do get to the end of levels pretty quickly, but I'm not finding the game that easy. In fact, every time I play this game, I'm always surprised at how often I die. Even though it shouldn't be a surprise anymore at this point.
I find Kirby actually very tricky to control, and despite the fact that you can float through levels, enemies are definitely laid out in a way as to prevent that. The slow-down doesn't help.
I need to play another version of the game to compare, but was the slow-down always this bad? How about the 3DS version?
Pretty sure the slowdown wasn't in the 3DS version. Haven't played it myself though but at 30 cents, it's hard to pass up on this one despite the slowdown.
