Funny how it works out sometime, and where we end up achieving some of our best gaming accomplishments.
For me, it happened this morning. I was waiting at the dentist's office for my cleaning appointment and had ten minutes to kill, so I thought 'why not try this just for the heck of it' and took out my 3DS XL. No sound on either.
Finished on my second attempt, at which point I was called inside the office.

Wow, so I was always very close to the end of the stage. That final stretch wasn't pretty, but I made it and still had like 4 hearts left. Got my silver blossom ('Good' rating) with 160 notes collected.
Played through the first world. I am really terrible at rhythm games. I don't know if I'll be able to do it when this gets harder. I'm having fun with it though.
I have all the Greats on normal mode except for the final boss. But it's so slow and frustrating to replay that I just moved on to the Fast stages. I'm about halfway through them with Greats, other than some of the bosses.
Are you finding it tough to get Greats on boss stages? Because those frustrate me whenever I miss one beat. Then again I haven't spent a lot of time on them yet.
@roykoopa64 Yes. I've pretty much decided I'm not going to bother with them anymore. It's not that the cues are unfair or anything, I just hate that each section is interspersed with the cinematics, which makes each boss battle take about 2-3 times as long as they would if they were just straight musical cues.
I got this game with Club Nintendo points and I'm enjoying it. It's been pretty easy to get Greats on the normal levels so far, and that's fine by me! I'm playing well enough that I don't feel like it's cheap and there's the added challenge of the sped up levels if I want to push myself farther down the line. I agree with some previous posts that the boss stages are the main drag, since you have to get perfect to get a Great. So far I've made myself do it, but we'll see if I keep it up.
I do agree that the music isn't as good as you're hope for a music game. But it's not bad or anything. Definitely was a good use of 300 coins for anyone on the fence.
This game. I dig this game... it's like the rhythm games of old, before Guitar Hero came on the scene and made them all about matching notes on screen. There's even some Space Channel 5 in there!
I probably would have never paid attention if it weren't offered as a Club Nintendo reward, but I can safely say that I'd support future installments with actual money.
@Jargon@Hinph Huh, I forgot this was a Club Nintendo prize. I would have promoted it more if I'd remembered. Also, can't believe it's already been two years since I played it.
Beat the game! I got gold on all but two boss stages. I could go back and get them, but I probably won't bother (unless someone informs me there is a worthwhile reason to do it). I am excited to try the bonus levels though.
Definitely a cool little game. Glad I got it and it would be worth paying for in my opinion.
I thought it was a good game but not as great as I expected it to be. Actually, I kind of expected this since I did play the demo, and that kinda pushed me from buying it originally. But I'm glad I got it via Club Nintendo. It's quite challenging towards the end and especially on the fast speed.
@Jargon Did you collect all the birds? Just checking.
Oh man, just finished the bonus levels. Fiendish! Especially that Final Fight. Took me a solid hour to beat it. The end was pretty cheap but once I got myself to calm down and take my time at the end instead of rushing (and jumping early to my death), I managed to do pretty well on that part. If I had died on that one last fire pit, I would have been furious.
So that little speech by the guy at the end was pretty cryptic. I see there's something Pokemon related in this game but I haven't seen it. How do I unlock that stuff?
