I love Legos. Always have. Always will. As I get older and discover the little bit of disposable income, I've found that besides video games, I occasionally will splurge on a Lego set. There's just something about the miniature world of Legos. Their mimicry of the real or fantasy worlds we're used to is something special. This new game, which releases in less than a week now, looks to take the Lego concept, strip it of it's usual franchise licensing, and do something in a complete new direction.
I just read a really wonderfully thorough review from Eurogamer and I wanted to post it to start this discussion thread. The game is just a few days away... are you getting it? Tell me how you like it! (or don't like it)
In addition, an important note for those downloading. I'll let the original speaker do the talking (also seen in the thread below).
Gaaahhh, I'm going nuts reading these comments. I wanted to wait until the girlfriend and I moved in together before getting this as she loves the LEGO games. This is the first one that really appeals to me, though. Perhaps I'll download now, just to make sure it's done downloading in July...
The lack of messaging when the game loses its connection legitimately grinds my gears, though. I've set a few scores that would have had me close to or at the top of my leaderboard only to have nothing stick because the game lost its connection and I had no idea.
Bah I'm done derailing. Lego should be done redownloading... eventually.
Got that email too, awesome! Not sure if it'll go to my card or my Nintendo account. Since I paid with both =/ Hopefully goes to eShop so I can just apply it to Monster Hunter 3.
Got the game downloaded, installed, and ready for gaming today after work!
Oi! I can't wait for this! Gamestop wont get them till thursday! They shipped today. Amazon had shipping issues too. Nintendo intentionally pushing digital (as I've heard)? Hmm...
Pretty fun and humorous game. I can't say I'm wild about the controls (jumping seems off and buttons don't seem to behave as they should when pressed) but it's a fun game. Great sense of humor (pokes fun at itself with a progress bar comment very early in game) and I'm more excited about exploring the entire city than playing the story. The city is gorgeous and really is full of life. A LOT of different kinds of areas in the city.
@VofEscaflowne I'm on mission 8 I think. I also get distracted but running into the "you can't do this yet" things puts me back on-track. I will try to 100% this game!
That reminds me. When I stopped in Kentucky on my way to Florida awhile back they had "Maple flavoured syrup" in the hotel's breakfast room. It was gross and wrong.
