Welcome to the official discussion thread for LEGO City: Undercover on the Wii U!
To start, please add this game to your log, add it to your collection (if applicable), and (when you are ready) rate it using the link above!
I love Legos. Always have. Always will. As I get older and discover the little bit of disposable income, I've found that besides video games, I occasionally will splurge on a Lego set. There's just something about the miniature world of Legos. Their mimicry of the real or fantasy worlds we're used to is something special. This new game, which releases in less than a week now, looks to take the Lego concept, strip it of it's usual franchise licensing, and do something in a complete new direction. I just read a really wonderfully thorough review from Eurogamer and I wanted to post it to start this discussion thread. The game is just a few days away... are you getting it? Tell me how you like it! (or don't like it)In addition, an important note for those downloading. I'll let the original speaker do the talking (also seen in the thread below). TheOldManFromZelda said:For those interested in downloading the game, apparently you will need to have an external HD. Weird. URL to share (right click and copy)

@Mop it up@DrFinkelsteinSTOP! Just stop! I have too many games as it is, that I'm playing and in my backlog. I can associate with Anand, when asked in podcast 60, 'What games are you playing?' He replies, something like, 'Ask me what games I've been buying.' Yes, I have a game buying addiction. I've always been that way. Yea, I know I can find the game at a lesser price. Eventually, I'll end up caving. Thanks for the Camel site. Never heard of it until now. Looks like I'll need to find another part-time job. Thanks, Fink. ha,ha.... |

@JargonYou are correct, the Lego game that was included in that big sale, was that Lego Movie videogame. I cannot think of the exact title. I saw where I posted about a year ago, complaining about the game not being on sale. I never did buy it. I can't remember if I ever checked that Camel site that Fink mentioned. I was bummed that Lego Undercover wasn't included in the digital sale as well. This is why Nintendo doesn't sale more games, as well as consoles. They need to lower the price. EDIT: Well, after just checking Amazon & Ebay, this game is going to be 'ONE OF THOSE GAMES' that you'll never be able to find for a fairly inexpensive price. Basically, $40 is the best price on either site for a used physical disc. So, Nintendo probably knows this, so the digital price will never be lower or go on sale often. Looks like I will be skipping this title. I have sooo many games now, still new in the case or downloaded, its not like 'I NEED' another game. I'll only buy this game if I can find it around $30, preferably lower. I hate being that way, cause a great game deserves to be supported, but by now, I doubt one can find many new physical copies that will benefit the developer. Yes, there are new ones, but the asking price is high and the thing is, someone already bought those games, so its not like the developer will see any more profit, unless I buy the game digital. I'm sorry, I just don't want to pay full price, $60 is too much, at least for me. I'm not willing to pay it, so I guess I will not play it. I always wonder, who are all these people that bought the game brand new, never opened it, ect. Like why? I mean this game was never perceived as a, 'OMG, I HAVE TO HAVE IT, AAA GAME!' Sure, I keep hearing its a really good game, but why are there so many brand new physical copies available on amazon, ebay, ect? Sometimes I feel that there is this huge group of people, with nothing better to do than to buy up all the brand new shit, somehow knowing one day, they'll be able to sell the items at a higher price than when the item was first introduced to the public. Either that, or the morons bought the item years ago and just have not been able to unload it, but by pure chance/luck, that item is now worth more than when originally released. Hell, I have not even thought about this game in about a year and then I saw this thread and I'm all pissed cause the game is no less cheaper than a year ago. So, now I can forget about the game, again and then in another year or so, something will make me remember it, and I can rage all over again about the price being even higher, ect, ect. |
