It isn't an RPG, but it does have RPG elements. The same way it isn't a dating sim, but has dating sim elements, and so on. You are able to level up your character, equip him with various items that boost certain stats and all that, but I wouldn't sum up the game as an action-RPG. When you're in one of the towers, it feels more like a 3D version of the DS Castlevanias, or a distant cousin of Metroid Prime, with battle mechanics borrowed from some high-action brawler. At times it feels Zelda-like too, especially during the boss fights, which are pure class. |
