As this game is set to release next week, I figured we might as well start discussion now. Who else is excited? Will it be better than the first game? WHO KNOWS?!
Also, in a strange show of complete honesty, Gaijin just posted about the build differences. It kind of sounds like the Wii U version might be the best version? Unless you have a good controller for your PC? The PS3 version is missing some stuff and the Xbox 360 version has the worst load times, apparently.
I was just going to complain about this. Also, my first level score was constantly going down. Beat it on Hard, got my high score that tied everyone else, went back to beat Medium perfect and my score went down (duh), beat it on Easy for perfect and score went down again (duh), then went back to beat on Hard perfect and didn't even crack 1million wtf...
You'll learn a move later that lets you dance and gets you extra points each time you do it.
I don't think that's really a spoiler since I read it in this thread already but just in case.
What I don't like, and this is even after having the devs (or whoever) tweet me about it, is that scores are not classed by difficulty so you never know which difficulty will net you the most points until you try. So someone playing on the easiest could technically get a higher score than playing on the harder ones. They told me that sometimes the harder ones will get you more points but I don't see how that's possible unless there's a crapload of stuff to dodge.
Really? That's kind of dumb. The game should be designed so that you must play on the hardest difficulty to get the most points. For a score attack game like this I'd prefer just one difficulty setting for the entire game (like the original Runner) to avoid all of this.
Also, I've read that in addition to the high score glitch, there's also a bug that locks up the Wii U when going back to Wara Wara Plaza. Now I'm definitely going to wait until the patch is released before buying.
Yeah I hate when people design games with leaderboards in mind but have it so disorganized with its high score system. Ah well, it's still a great game for sure.
And that glitch, if I'm going by the one post I saw yesterday (and my own experience), only seems to occur if you access Miiverse within the game and then choose "Close software" via the home menu. So I guess just avoid using Miiverse while in-game or power down the Wii U before exiting the game.
I'm really excited for this game too but now I'm leaning towards waiting for a patch as well... I've got Fire Emblem to keep me occupied, and I don't really like the idea of having to deal with any glitches.
@VofEscaflowne Hmm, but I've been getting higher points from perfecting the harder ones than the medium ones. I think there pretty much always will be more to dodge, in most cases? Or maybe all cases, if they were conscientious about it?
