Welcome to the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate thread! This will be our headquarters for coordinating our Hunts, sharing stories of war, and helpful hints for our brothers-in-arms, compatriots, friends, and neighbors. Please be mindful of folks' different definitions of "spoilers," and remember that not EVERYBODY played Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, though everybody totally should've.


The "burden" of running this thread has been placed upon me but...I can't do it alone. I will lean on Maxi and others to help with the heavy lifting occasionally, both in planning things and also in feeding this thread. Please keep it bumped (once we get going). If you could, let us know if you're getting this game, WHEN you're getting this game, and what your aspirations are so we can get us situated in groups with likeminded people. Do you want to barely play this game? Is this going to be your new #1? The most fun with this game is had when you get to go out with a group of guys week in week out, so if we can find someone with a schedule similar to yours, you'll have the most fun with it.

Oh, Ludist, I was saying that that one leg had already broken before you got there; the other leg, however, was nearly untouched. I know that stuff is pretty confusing in 2-3 word bursts there.

Anyway, that Quest helped me max out my Ancient/"Dragon" Sword. Completed TWO branches today. Just awesome.

Anyone gonna be on tomorrow night? Got a pile of DLC burning a hole in my pocket.

WON'T be on tonight at all. Next big day (for me) after tomorrow night will be Friday.

Haven't popped online yet. Only got my full Great Jaggi set (so I can drop the leather armor) and upgraded my Bone Axe. I think I will farm Arzuros to get the Wild Axe next.

Good idea. The Arzuros Axe can lead you down to the Dios Axe, which is very powerful and can be obtained relatively early. That's one of my weapons of choice.

Also, Power Phials > every other Phial.

Haha. Perhaps not tonight since I'm hunting locally with my brother and the rest of the week will be pretty bad time wise for me. Hopefully soon though :)

Sorry if this has been brought up before in this thread but what time do you guys usually play? Any set schedule?

I'm on a lot during weekends, otherwise relatively randomly...Stache likes to set a schedule.

I *LOVE* to set a schedule. If you want to hunt, and KNOW you'll be hunting, say so, and I'll throw it up there. Other people will look and go "you know, that Wei guy is pretty cool, I'd like to hunt with him!" and I'll say "I can't let my Meetup Brother hunt alone!"

I play every Tuesday Night (new DLC), and I used to have 2-3 others to play with. The last two weeks have been...not as advertised.

When Nikki works Friday Nights (6p-6a), I'm usually parked here for a minimum of 8 hours. No joke.

Is your info up there accurate? I don't believe you've accepted my friend request yet.
I'll look soon when I hop on for DLC so I don't have to wait for it tonight.. Just in case....


--By "drop" you didn't mean "get rid of completely," right? You can still throw that Leather Set on when you know you're going out to Gather. Decoration / Charm up (eventually) and you can activate some other Skills that allow you to Gather even more, and faster, and without worry of your Nets and Pickaxes breaking. Its purdy rad.

Haha. I almost never sell anything so yes... I still have my leather armor set

Sorry I haven't accepted your friend request yet. Will do so next time I'm on the system.

My schedules can be pretty erratic based on work and girlfriend. Wednesdays are always no go for me and Fridays can be random.

You thought it was disappointing? Why?

You know, those guys were so small that we were all hitting each other (some more than others with humungous axes...) that it was just a mess. Did you use the stuff yet to make the Cosmic Mask? Took 'em for a test drive today; apparently everything that they gather isn't an item, but rather a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Coin, sellable for 300, 400, or 500z. I guess its kinda neat? Better than having them gather freakin' Airweed.

They aren't available in Moga Village, but you can play them with Cha Cha and Kayamba...not recommended though.
