Welcome to the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate thread! This will be our headquarters for coordinating our Hunts, sharing stories of war, and helpful hints for our brothers-in-arms, compatriots, friends, and neighbors. Please be mindful of folks' different definitions of "spoilers," and remember that not EVERYBODY played Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, though everybody totally should've.


The "burden" of running this thread has been placed upon me but...I can't do it alone. I will lean on Maxi and others to help with the heavy lifting occasionally, both in planning things and also in feeding this thread. Please keep it bumped (once we get going). If you could, let us know if you're getting this game, WHEN you're getting this game, and what your aspirations are so we can get us situated in groups with likeminded people. Do you want to barely play this game? Is this going to be your new #1? The most fun with this game is had when you get to go out with a group of guys week in week out, so if we can find someone with a schedule similar to yours, you'll have the most fun with it.

@Mr_Mustache dont count on me to help with arenas. I find them boring; however, if you want help raising your HR this weekend so you can do the event quest for the sword and shield, I will be more than delighted to help with that.

Still no Lagi Plate, so I'm giving up on that for now. Next up, crafting an Inceadeus...and I'm going to work on Tavern Requests.

EDIT: I've also got next Friday off, so I may be on a lot that morning and afternoon.

I might take next Friday off work because I have to burn personal days before the school day ends. So I can play with you.

Anyway, lastnight I was able to finish crafting my G Rank Uragaan armor set. Since that rank is the highest (and I'm assuming its the last round of boss fights) I'm goin through each boss one by one and getting all their g rank armor. I have five complete G Rank sets right now and I'm almost done maxing out another weapon tree. I could be a much higher rank by now if I do used on HR, but I'm more in to getting all the armor.

Bah. I've been stuck playing single player, and haven't been online in over a week. Maybe I'll be able to hop on this weekend, but it isn't likely. Friday night is out because of prom.

No, Scrawn, tomorrow. Like we've been talking about.

Not sure what we're going to do exactly though; you don't want to do Arenas, we probably / might not have enough for those 4p missions (I want to slay 'em allll -- yes, 10 Gigginox, back-to-back-to-back......to-back), and I'm not nuts about having my hand held while you dust everything without breaking a sweat. That Double Jaggi mission we ran a couple weeks ago..I think you evaporated them. There wasn't even anything to carve, just air where they once stood.

The Event Quest (that everyone HR3 or higher has access to) "Gigginox Buffet" has your monsters slain as "0/10" when you begin the Quest, and it climbs to "1/10" after you beat your first one. I want to know what is at the end of the rainbow. And NO, I don't want to know what the internet says!

Also, which Lagi are you pursuing? I've hunted online, offline, in the woods, lower rank, upper rank, alone, in groups, captured, killed, etc. I can't tell you EXACTLY where I got a Lagi Plate, but I have 2. They'll come, brother.

Took down Caedeus twice last night to forge an Incadeus (Switch Axe) and upgrade my Tough Break to a Soulbreaker. Power Phial Switch Axes > any other phial.

Five star offline, Deserted Island and Flooded Forest, typically solo.

I am enjoying how many monsters have been added to the Moga Woods after you beat them on a mission. It makes the random hunting for resource points more fun.

I understand if me helping you raise HR is seen as hand holding. I may only be HR 7 but I have gear better than people who are rank 50. I'm a force to be reckoned with. I would love to help you guys rank up, but if you feel like you're cheating then I'm not sure what to say. It won't be a waste of time for me because I'd like to get resources to make different weapons, but if you guys will feel cheated if I come help, then I won't.
