Welcome to the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate thread! This will be our headquarters for coordinating our Hunts, sharing stories of war, and helpful hints for our brothers-in-arms, compatriots, friends, and neighbors. Please be mindful of folks' different definitions of "spoilers," and remember that not EVERYBODY played Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, though everybody totally should've.


The "burden" of running this thread has been placed upon me but...I can't do it alone. I will lean on Maxi and others to help with the heavy lifting occasionally, both in planning things and also in feeding this thread. Please keep it bumped (once we get going). If you could, let us know if you're getting this game, WHEN you're getting this game, and what your aspirations are so we can get us situated in groups with likeminded people. Do you want to barely play this game? Is this going to be your new #1? The most fun with this game is had when you get to go out with a group of guys week in week out, so if we can find someone with a schedule similar to yours, you'll have the most fun with it.

For any Aussies on the fence about getting the game because of the region restrictions well I would suggest this. Just wait a little while to and see if any Europeans give this game a try as well and if you want to give the game a shot well that's great if not then that is your choice. As much as I want this series fanbase expand I am not going to to force force people to play it because it can take lots of patience to get started but then once you get them down it is pretty easy.

Day 1 for both versions. Cannot wait! Quite likely the rest of the year could pass by without another release on either system and I wouldn't notice.

Already pre-ordered! I shall have it Day One-ish (unless Newegg screws me over, like with the Pro Controller).

Oh, and, by the way, the Pro Controller is on sale at Target this week!

I'll be getting it Day 1 on the Wii U. How much I enjoy it will decide if I get the 3DS version. From this point forward my Wii U purchases will be digital.

I'm not getting it, fuck them. So much rage right now its not even funny. Rayman was strike 1, Monster Hunter is strike 2. I have been so pissed off lately that I just feel totally alienated, I feel like just packing in gaming altogether.

It's the ethics of it. We are taking a stand because we get ostracized all the time. Australia gets no love whatsever and Europe just gets lumped with us.

And again, its not like you're going to play with EVERYONE here anyways. I most certainly didn't play with EVERYONE on the Tri stuff either. And Dynablade didn't play with ANY of us, so theres that, too..


EDIT- PSA time. Two years ago I got NHL2K12, and nobody here wanted to play with us. Only Master Sandman II wanted to play, so you know what happened? We played in a league TOGETHER (the two of us), and we found some other people in THAT world who wanted to play. We did, and then one of those guys was like "pfft yeah, I'll play Madden!," and he joined our Madden league (that nobody here was playing in either, thanks for that). So, ideally, you and ShadowLink (and warerare?) play MH3U, and you guys find some other awesome Australians / New Zealanders / Europeans, and bring them here. It all works out in the end, you build a roster of Aussies, and you've got it made.

Very simple, very easy.

@Anand is it really? I might have to jump on that. I'll probably be playing MonHun mostly with the GamePad, but I'd like the option. And it'd be nice to have for Darksiders 2.

But we can't play with ANYONE (apart from PAL people). We want the option to play with our NW buds.

No Worldwide option, no purchase. It's very simple.

Use the tablet for Darksiders, it's way better. You can organise your items easier and keep an eye on the map.

This isn't really something against the PAL regions, it isn't like other versions of the game are region-free.

I don't think there is much chance of me playing with the Aussie guys, I think Timezones pretty much screw that up. Plus the last time I tried to play everyone was speaking in Italian and it was impossible to even understand strangers.
