Welcome to the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate thread! This will be our headquarters for coordinating our Hunts, sharing stories of war, and helpful hints for our brothers-in-arms, compatriots, friends, and neighbors. Please be mindful of folks' different definitions of "spoilers," and remember that not EVERYBODY played Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, though everybody totally should've.


The "burden" of running this thread has been placed upon me but...I can't do it alone. I will lean on Maxi and others to help with the heavy lifting occasionally, both in planning things and also in feeding this thread. Please keep it bumped (once we get going). If you could, let us know if you're getting this game, WHEN you're getting this game, and what your aspirations are so we can get us situated in groups with likeminded people. Do you want to barely play this game? Is this going to be your new #1? The most fun with this game is had when you get to go out with a group of guys week in week out, so if we can find someone with a schedule similar to yours, you'll have the most fun with it.

I think it would be a good idea to note that this game is region-restricted, and separate the user list by region if anyone from Europe or Australia is interested.

Probably. I gave up on online play on the Wii version after I beat the offline game, and since Rayman Legends got inexplicably delayed, I need something to play...this might be it.

you shouldve just added me to the day-one list without asking. You know how excited i am for this game!!

I AM HIGHLY disappointed that the game is region-locked online. I wanted to play with our friends across the pond as well as our fellow Aussies..... IT is a shame and capcom should be ashamed of themselves....

....anyway, there is a lot of fun to be had with my fellow north americans. Come to think of it, does region locking just mean NCL, NOA, and NOE? Can Americans play with Canadians?

Does anyone know is this literally an HD version of the Wii game + extra content, or is it some weird kind of upscaled version of the 3DS game?

In other words, is it all around better than MHTri Wii, or are there technical downsides to it too?

@Infinitywave it is a 1080p upresed version of the 3ds game. Has around double the content of the original Wii release and it looks much much better. The game runs great and apparently there are added features, such as a lock on button so you dont have to constantly fiddle with the camera and worry about missing your attacks, i hear.

It is the whole region. So for NA servers it would be the whole North American contenenant and South America too. Asia servers Japan,Korea Taiwan for Europe servers everything else. Including Australia and Africa.

Doing the best I can! Not sure where to add your stuff, since its IN the thread. I didn't want to clog the top with technical stuff, really, I just wanted it to track HR / Schedules basically so folks can keep up with others. I've said it numerous times, but knowing that you'll DEFINITELY be able to go out with some awesome dudes on the SAME NIGHT, ALL THE TIME is incredibly relaxing, refreshing, and awesome.

I can't tell you how many times I felt bad for guys in the Tri thread who'd excitedly say "I'll be on tonight if anyone is around,"...and that would be the last post until mid-day the next day. No fun there, sir.

@Mr_Mustache well i can devote at least an hour every work night for this game when it comes out. i may not be able to pull real late nights, but I can definitely at least show up for some missions.

I'm really, really trying to get this on day one since it releases on my birthday... I think this is the first time in my life that will ever happen, lol.

I also plan to stream it quite a bit provided I can get my streaming situation set up right again.

Got a group that intends to play a lot (we played tons of MHT online, just didn't get to record as much as I'dve' liked to ) so yeeeup, I'm in again. This is the reason I'm getting a Wii U right now, everything else will be a bonus.

It was just a suggestion for organization.

I'm not sure when I'll buy a Wii U, but when I do I'll probably get the game. I'm on the North American list.
