Welcome to the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate thread! This will be our headquarters for coordinating our Hunts, sharing stories of war, and helpful hints for our brothers-in-arms, compatriots, friends, and neighbors. Please be mindful of folks' different definitions of "spoilers," and remember that not EVERYBODY played Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, though everybody totally should've.


The "burden" of running this thread has been placed upon me but...I can't do it alone. I will lean on Maxi and others to help with the heavy lifting occasionally, both in planning things and also in feeding this thread. Please keep it bumped (once we get going). If you could, let us know if you're getting this game, WHEN you're getting this game, and what your aspirations are so we can get us situated in groups with likeminded people. Do you want to barely play this game? Is this going to be your new #1? The most fun with this game is had when you get to go out with a group of guys week in week out, so if we can find someone with a schedule similar to yours, you'll have the most fun with it.

Thats weird. Welp, I'll hold my breath (for yeeears) for an UPDATE to Monster Hunter 4 then, and THAT is Wii U bound? Kinda like MH3U was an update? I don't know. I really don't want them to get stuck on XBONE though or something like that. I was over on Capcom Unity a little yesterday searching for a nugget of hope, and people kept mentioning XBONE and PS4. Please, please no..

I gotta play Madden right at 10:30p tonight, and then I'll probably hop over to MH regardless of the MK situation. I might be OUT for that tonight, or rather flip-flop my playing. I know that Mario Kart is usually the more happenin' place earlier, but its not going to jive with the TV situation at home tonight. So yeah, I should be on MH about 11:30p.

Ugh. I was stuck in Madden until like quarter after 1. Checked Friends List then, saw you happily in Mario Kart (along with only 8 of my 100 buddies online), and figured you'd be happier there. Got off the Wii U, laid down on the couch, fell asleep. Next week, I guess!

How'd you do on the 'ol Karts?

Both sharpness skills and a (relatively useless with food but imo nice to have) health boost? Sign me up.

Conked out at 12:30a. Almost fell asleep on the couch MINUTES after that. What has become of poor Monster Hunter? Gotta take back Tuesdays somehow, Kart is up on other days or something! I don't want to miss two weeks in a row without cutting down some wild beasts. Makeup day/night?

I like how the Hallowed Jhen mohran armor pretty much entirely consists of random parts from the Stygian Zinogre and Goldbeard Caedus and some Deviljho fangs and random ore.

I recently picked up gunning. I am enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. Bow is trickier but I am determined to get the hang of it.

So far I have dabbled in LBG and Bows. I am trying to build a Gunlance set but I am discovering that I am critically short on low and high rank material. I really want to build up my gunner gear from scratch. I completed a Wroggi X gunner set which will be my standard for now. I of course want to develop some Rath gunner armor (and guns) but am undecided how I want to go about that. Will probably also make a Zinogre set as well.

biggest issue is the lack of resources. I never intended to pick up gunning so the only thing I reliably hoarded was gunner charms (because...charms!). I don't even have enough material to reliably keep up with my ammo demand.

I am also helping a very new player get the hang of the game, so that is going to be a great chance to stock up on materials. Any reliable and fast way to farm husk berries?

Anyone got some good recommendations for LBG, HBG and Bow? I just built a Rathling Cannon and plan on building the Rathian LBG, Kelbi Bow and Rath Gunlance. I do want to create good lightning and dragon sets.
