Also, I felt that X & Y may be more about genetics than geometry... The basis in which the Pokémons will be made stronger will be changed, also we got a glimpse of that kind of concepts in B&W2 where Kyurem merged with a Pokémon(Zekrom or Reshiram). Also, by the looks of the legendaries, X looks like a god of life, while Y, with it's many hands look like an everlooking god of death.

It may be as simple as 3D coordinates... But it would be fairly stupid if it was the sole significance.

@Davoid How well did those games sell?
-I do not know, but 90% of the people I know who plays Pokémon also bought B&W2.

Well if I happen to be wrong then I'll buy the X version on the cheap when the next Pokémon games are announced (thereby ensuring there will be no third version).

@Mop it up: So... you won't be joining in the social aspect of the games? me sad...
01/18/13, 05:33
@Davoid Probably not, unless there's some sort of co-op. I don't really like competitive play much.

@Davoid
The Japanese logos for X and Y have a DNA symbol on them so that is all but confirmed now.

@Pokefreak911, really? So I was spot on!? Great! Where's my fanfare?

Oh, here it is!

EDIT: Here are the Japanese logos featuring the shiny DNA strand... So, are you guys still so sure about that Z version?

I also wanted to clarify that my original response in this thread was answering the question "Which version looks cooler". I really can't say which I'll buy until I know all the differences.

@Davoid Oh, I imagine it has a double meaning. The games can't really focus on just one axis (1D games? Whoa!), so they're doubling it as chromosomes to fit into the story as well as the symbolic meaning of being 3D. The third version may not actually be called Z Version, who knows, maybe it'll be XX or XY, but there will definitely be one, just as there always has been one.

Would it be cool if instead of introducing new Pokemon, they genetically modified old ones? I can't tell if that would be cool or not.

@Davoid

I would have said definitely up until the lack of Pokemon Gray.

Our group tends to negotiate with each other, forming pairs when the release of a game like this nears. So... both I guess, multiple times over. Although personally I'll take X because CARIBOU!

But where's our Pokemon mmo on Wii U?

Also, probably Y. I like red.

I'll wait for Z. Has somebody made that joke already?

DAMN IT!!
02/09/13, 22:23
But it isn't a joke, there's really going to be one! I guess it might not be named "Z Version" but there will be something.
02/09/13, 22:25
I'm still waiting for Grey...

:(
02/09/13, 22:35
Black and White 2 is Grey! Two shades of grey!
02/09/13, 22:37
Smleh. I can't just jump in halfway into the story!
02/09/13, 22:39
Read a synopsis somewhere, the story's lame anyway.
