Played the demo, this time with head phones on. The music blows me away. It is so well done and every part of this game just seems to scream quality... 6pm est tomorrow can't come soon enough...
Ugh, geez, the first Fire Emblem I'm really excited about, and the shipment's delayed!
No way I'm getting the digital version though at the same price. Ferget it, Nintendo! Until Awakening hits shelves, looks like I'm just gonna be playing the waiting game.
Eh, the waiting game sucks, let's play Hungry, Hungry Hippos.
So excited to jump back into another Fire Emblem game! I actually didn't beat Radiant Dawn, but I enjoyed Shadow Dragon and Path of Radiance quite a bit. Also, I was bummed that the second Fire Emblem game to land on the DS didn't leave Japan.
I've been avoiding most of the previews for this game, so I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on it.
I had a two hour delay from work today so I got to wake up early, download the game, and play for almost two hours!! So happy this happened. I just beat chapter three and I am loving every minute of it. There is so much polish. The music is some of nintendos best ever and everything about the game just feels complete.
I started my character with Skill assets and Magic flaw because I am planning on making it an assassin or sort, not sure. The game kind of forces youth do magic at the start but I will change that as soon as I am able. I can't wait to get off work to play more.
I am playing this game on an xl and the cutscenes and the actual fighting grid looks amazing on it. The dialogue scenes look not as good as the rest because of the polygons; however, the game is still beautiful. The graphics aren OMG AMAZING, it is just enough to make you get the atmosphere and the scale of the battlefield. What makes this game such a beautiful game is the combination of the visuals, polish, in-depth menus, and the music really ties it all together. It really feels like you are in an epic struggle during battles.
This game deserved all the high scores it got last week. It is truly amazing.
Beat the third mission without losing anyone... I'm not sure how long until I actually decide to stick with my deaths You really have to pay attention to your every single move and anticipate possible enemy attacks on the next turn unless you want to lose a bunch of party members. The third one was easy to get surrounded by enemies. I can't imagine how this game is on Lunatic
Remember to press X to see the full range of enemy attacks, and keep your more tender units (Lissa, I'm looking at you!) out of the heat of battle when possible.
I'm pretty aggravated at Nintendo with their shipping errors, but I'll try a few places today and see if I can somehow nab the game.
Yup, I discovered that yesterday. Very useful for the third mission where you just want to lure them out to you without having to check each individual enemy unit's range.
You're playing on the easiest setting though right? Even when I was being careful, I was trying to take out the enemy leader on the third map. He had a 9% chance of critical attack... which of course he did and he killed me in one shot

Maybe the shipping errors will create some artificial demand for the game. I went digital so I don't care but I really want to see this game succeed.
Are you playing on Normal or Hard? I'm trying to decide between those (leaning towards Normal since I've only played about 10 hours of FE in the past), but I don't want it to be TOO easy, even on Classic.
No, I've never felt that just a larger screen is worth the money. Now if it added a second stick or there was a FE branded one, I would maybe consider buying one.
In normal, the game feels easy at times; however, I'm also playing smart and healing. I had near death experiences but thats all. I will do multiple playthroughs, though.
How do you access/download the dlc in this game? Is it in the eShop or in game?
I think you have to unlock it in the game first. There's a "Wireless" mode in the menu that's still greyed out for me. I got a SpotPass notification about it that I could download a map for free until some time in March.
@gojira I'm somewhat farsighted so the xl is what I need. My options are either hold the 3ds up to my face or to hold it a few feet away, I opt for the few feet away so the xl is the one I need.
