Art Style: Orbient (Nintendo WiiWare) Review (9.3)  by
I was just thinking... I wonder if we will see any Art Style games on the 3DS or Wii U? It seemed to be a big thing for awhile, but not so much recently.

Anyway, Orbient was easily my favorite. It managed to create a subtle yet compelling experience with only two buttons... push / pull. And the music was pretty awesome too.

Orbient 2 pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. It'd look pretty wicked in 3D. Or they could do it on Wii U and use the Gamepad for the close-up action and the TV to see the entire galaxy...

I can't remember if I 100%ed this game or not. Some of the extra/bonus levels are insanely tough.

I know I haven't finished this completely, but I did enjoy the game. Like most Art Style games the music is really good.

@canonj
Yeah, I was hooked on collecting moons because the music gets better and better with every one.

Same. I remember playing some of them, can't recall if I finished them all.
Game was solid, but I preferred Cubello and Pictobits. Beats Boxlife and especially Rotozoa for me though.

I guess I don't really "get" these games, they are too minimalistic for my taste.

Minimalistic is awesome, it's one good concept presented in the most pure, raw format! Nothing to take you away from it!

That also means nothing to entice me or draw me into it.

I just beat the last of the Extreme levels and got the second credits sequence. Really fun game, glad I picked it up.

I guess I read that there is more to this game if you get the moon on each level? I've only done that one a few levels so it'll basically take me a second playthrough to get that stuff. Will probably do that down the line someday.

Is there more?! I thought that getting the moon was just a challenge for its own sake.

I got all the moons in the initial 30 levels. The last level took me quite some time. The bonus levels are going to be super tough, but I'm still having lots of fun with the game.

I think that's why I gave up on the bonus levels without really attempting them seriously: I always tried to get the moon.

So, they're pretty fun? I should probably give them a go.

@Guillaume

Yea I enjoyed them and without trying to get the moon they weren't so bad. They're probably going to be much tougher this time through getting the moon, though. Much harder to luck into beating the level.

Unlocked the last? set of levels. Judging by the name and the look of the first one, these will truly be devilish

I also dropped back into Orbient a couple of months ago. Then I dropped back out. But it was fun. I think I Moon'd about half of the game that day.

I tried the Merciless levels today. I managed to beat the first two with the moon but both times I felt more lucky than good. I'm not even sure how you're supposed to approach some of these. Really tough.
