So, did anyone else buy this game? The $20 price tag may seem steep for a downloadable title, but it seems pretty sweet so far. It's beautiful and is a very nice blend of 2D platforming / puzzles with a bit of combat thrown in the mix.
Also it is up to 3 player online co-op. Let's play together!!!
I've been playing this game (on Wii U of course) and enjoying it, for the most part. I may be getting close to the end as I'm at the 7 hour mark or so?
The is my first Trine game since it's the only one available on a Nintendo system. Gorgeous visuals of course. The physics of the character movement and environment interaction definitely take some getting used to. It still doesn't always feel right, especially with some of the platforming.
Sometimes it seems like there's no way to reach the experience orbs floating about, but you really do have to keep in mind that you can change your abilities at any time by 'resetting' in the ability menu. Sometimes I just want to move on through the level rather than spend too much time trying to figure out how to get those orbs; surely they are optional only and won't prevent me from finishing the game if I miss some here and there, right???
I haven't tried multiplayer; seems like that would be the ideal way to play. The Miiverse community is a little slow, although it's been useful to post screenshots of places where I get stuck and ask for help.
Maybe this is common knowledge, but Trine 2: Director's Cut is on a -60% sale on the eShop, up until the fifth of September (I think). Bumping the thread to spread the information in case I wasn't the last one to know. Downloading the game now, because how could I say no to it for the price of an NES game?
EDIT: D'Oh! Yes, this was mentioned in the eShop update thread. I need to learn how to notice stuff properly.
