I just got home from Gamestop moments ago, having picked this charming thing up.

I've only just turned it on even and already the 3D looks pretty amazing.

Rumor has it that this game has some confusing backtracking that can be tricky to some, so lets use this thread to discuss the game and help each other out if need be! Good luck!

Past the twister? I guess that is where I need to go then. I tried the fan on it but that didn't work. None of my other stickers seem even remotely close to something that would work. Hmm.

Actually the big sticker thing kind of annoys me. Is there a way to recall what stage any given big sticker was at? Sometimes I use it in the wrong place, it falls to pieces, and then I need one again and forget where I found it to begin with.

@Zero
There is a place where you can buy those items needed to make large stickers.

Right now, you need to explore somewhere you probably haven't been in a while...

Um... is there any logic behind this? Or do I have to randomly run around in past stages!? Argh.

I'm not going to straight up tell you.

Actually I gathered that is what you meant, since that would make more sense than randomly having to go back to some random stage. I'm running around there right now.

When in need, ask Kersti. Preferably in the stage that you're stuck in.

Well, I'm across the sea. I always love in games when there is this milestone that is teased that you have to work a bit to obtain, and when you do, it opens up a bunch more to you.

Good advice! Otherwise I would've never found what I was looking for to get past the twister. And while I hate relying on hints to progress in a game, I like how they're completely optional in this game, unlike any recent Zelda game.

Personally, I found asking Kersti to only be minimally helpful a lot of the time. But maybe I was rarely stuck anywhere they thought I'd be stuck.

Just got the game today. Beat the first world. Really enjoying it even though I was a tad concerned about the battle system and such but man the charm of this game overflows. Especially when I caused mass ecological damage in World 1-4.

I got the game this week, and I just finished the Yoshi Sphinx level. I really like it so far, although I think it's a little weird that the game is barely an RPG. If not for the turn-based battles, I'm not sure I'd even consider it an RPG, with the lack of experience points and towns (at least so far, aside from Decalburg) and the level-based world map. Admittedly I am a little disappointed that the majority of the characters I've encountered so far are nameless Toads, since some of the best parts of past Paper Mario games are the characters, like Rawk Hawk in TTYD and Francis in SPM. But I don't want to judge the game based on what it isn't instead of what it is, and I am really enjoying what it is. The sticker mechanic works really well, and I love exploring the levels for more stickers and health increases and stuff. I also love how non-handholdy it is. Occasionally you'll have to use stickers in novel ways and you mostly have to figure it out on your own, rather than have your sticker companion spell it out for you.

Overall, really digging it.

@rebonack

I think I mostly agree. Honestly, the game definitely feels more like an adventure game than an RPG, and a pretty tricky one at that.

I just played the boo mansion. What a neat area, and it played different than all of the other ones There is so much variety in this game!

In 3-5 I know I should use a sticker but there's really no indication which one, and I hate wasting stickers...

Loop-Loop River? I don't remember using a sticker there...I'm fairly sure you can get both exits without using a Thing Sticker and just using your exploration skills.

Unless you're referring to the door outline in the stage, but that's a side thing that isn't necessary to complete the level.
12/17/12, 20:35
Oh really? I can't figure how to jump the gap towards the second exit. There is a big space for a sticker in the next room over, where the Boomarang Troopa hangs out.
12/17/12, 20:49
Two separate things!

The big gap has hidden coin blocks. Jump when you're riding the leaves to make the blocks appear.

The sticker space next to the Boomarant Troopa is for a hidden door sticker! Thanks for pointing that out; I missed that one.

I got stuck at Loop-Loop River too. Bun's right, you don't need a thing sticker.

Thanks, everyone.

I don't really want any answers here, just venting, but man... I've been running around the ghost mansion and every time that I think I found the last ghost, there are still more out there somewhere. I think I must be close by this point, but I can't find any more?!
