I just got home from Gamestop moments ago, having picked this charming thing up.
I've only just turned it on even and already the 3D looks pretty amazing.
Rumor has it that this game has some confusing backtracking that can be tricky to some, so lets use this thread to discuss the game and help each other out if need be! Good luck!
Cool. I'll contribute once I've put some time into the game. I haven't yet bought it (couldn't justify it, since I just bought Rayman Origins) but once I do grab Sticker Star I'll be sure to chime in! (and/or read other's chimes. lulz)
I'm surprised at my resistance, but I haven't picked up the game yet since I'm only 15-20 hours into Virtue's Last Reward. Paper Mario was the game that really sold me on the 3DS -- the first game that I really knew I needed to pick up (which makes sense, since it was one of the first games unveiled), so I'm shocked that I haven't picked it up on day one. But with the Wii U coming next week, I don't foresee having a ton of time to play it. Still really looking forward to it though!
You have a WHOLE WEEK to beat it before Wii U!! ;)
With this now out, I am neglecting Xenoblade, Harvest Moon A New Beginning, Pokemon Black 2 and Red Steel 2...
And soon this will be neglected with the Wii U coming out. So many damn games to play right now. After the Wii U releases I'll sit down and work on all this crazy backlog.
I won't be receiving my copy until probably Tuesday, and with the Wii U just a week awy I'm going to wait a while before I start. Otherwise I'll get 5 hours in before next Sunday, then be too preoccupied for at least a couple weeks to play any more.
I have been playing for three hours. I have just defeated what would be considered the first REAL boss, and I died three times. Time game has a good tutorial but there are a lot of things unsaid. I was afraid to turn my "things" in to stickers and use them becuse I was afraid of wasting them, but apparently you can pay money to get them again, but they are NOT cheap. They are almost required to beat bosses.
Anyway, the lack of leveling up is different for a game like this because it means you can't just grind and steamroll through everything. You have to play smart. It is very strategic at points, at least the first boss is.
I am looking forward to playing more, the music is fantastic and the aesthetics are pleasing.
I think I kinda of shot myself in the foot, I'll be receiving Miracle Mask and Paper Mario at the same time, the same week the Wii U releases. Gaming is good, but do I have the time for all these games?
I've only played through 1-1, but I'm having a better time with the game than I expected to. The music has been phenomenal, and the writing is classic Paper Mario
And it was nice to see that despite the fact that battles have been simplified, you can still do timed action commands for attacking and blocking.
I also really liked that the shiny stickers actually shined when you move your 3DS just like they would if they were actual shiny stickers. (Maybe I'm just too easily entertained tonight, heh)
I've only just beat I think it was World 1-4... but in World 1-3.... who else laughed their ass off to see Bowser had a backside and it was more or less receiving an enema...? Just a funny sight to see I thought.
I finally figured out how to get in to world two. The game is good, but I was expecting more story dialogue, I do appreciate how the game kind of leaves you by yourself to figure out all of this stuff, though,
I was so proud to beat the first boss on my first try, but apparently I didn't do such a great a job at it since Mario's sassy little sticker partner felt the need to tell me I could have beaten him with a lot less stickers
