Update
A man is facing charges for his effort to keep an eye on his community while wearing a Batman outfit.

Mark Wayne Williams tells the Petoskey News-Review that dressing in costume is his way of saying "it's not up to the government to save us."
He's due in court Thursday.

It's not Williams' first brush with the law as the caped crusader. He was arrested last year after police received a report of a man dressed as Batman on the roof of a Petoskey business

PETOSKEY, Mich. - Police say they arrested a U.S. man after he showed up at a crime scene wearing a Batman outfit because he wouldn't leave them alone.

"He wouldn't clear the scene, and we had a canine out there, and he kept screwing up the scent," State Police Sgt. Jeff Gorno told the Petoskey News-Review. "He said he wanted to help us look for the driver."

Mark Wayne Williams, 33, was charged in Saturday's incident with resisting and obstructing police in an investigation.

Williams also was arrested last year after police received a report of a man dressed as Batman on the roof of a local business. He was sentenced to six months of probation, during which he was forbidden to wear costumes.

Hahaha. Wow. Hilarious story.

I remember reading too many comics when I was about 12 or 13 and making plans with my friends to become masked vigilantes. Then we turned 14 and realized it was ridiculous.

I guess what I'm saying is I hope this guy turns 14 soon.

He should invest in some antiperspirant.

The problem is that, much like the fake Batmans in that one Batman movie, the only way this can possibly end is some criminal murdering this guy, and this guy being shocked because like... dude... I'm Batman, how did a simple knife take me down!?

@Robknoxious1

BAT-antiperspirant!

Wow, holy crap. This guy was 33? For cryin' out loud.

At least he was being Batman and trying to help. Better than the tragedy in Colorado with that psycho that tried to be the Joker.

1. How did he know he was the driver
2. Maybe he WAS the culprit

haha

@GameDadGrant

Yes... I would take a crazy Batman civilian over a deranged Joker with guns any day.

No wonder he couldn't do anything, he is missing his utility belt.

Dude is missing the basics about being Batman. I bet his parents are still alive.

@Wellsy529
That's what I thought when they said he kept screwing up the dog's scent. Maybe the dog was right on the money!

@Stephen
