- some characters might set up a tent and camp outside
- visit the recycle shop for various materials
- help out your in-game friends with purchasing decisions
- use your office (as mayor) to make decisions on putting things in town

- trade items with StreetPass as well
- take picture via photobooth, bottom screen displays the picture you'll take

- early morning music is calm, dawn the music is more upbeat, afternoon is more pleasant-sounding music, nighttime the music has more base, late night music gets mysterious
- KK Slider takes on the role of a DJ at the club, as well as his regular guitar gig

okay so online is confirmed, but i want to know how it is handled. And when they say you can sell things, i hope it maens you can have an online shop or your own shop that friends or real players can come in and buy your goods and you get all the money.

so far this seems like the best animal crossing to date, i understand that they should get better with each new version, which they do, but this one is a huge update over City Folk. It is nice to see the return of the island and it is great to be able to spend money to add things to the town; however, i have a bad feeling that town upgrades will follow a linear progression and offer very little custom features.

Did they mention how big the maps will be? How many villagers will be around at once? DLC? This game is primed to be a cash cow for nintendo.

Yeah I am still curious about online. This game has so much online potential and I fear that they won't really take it beyond what they already did with the online in the last two games.

Nice to see that they are adding a bunch of stuff though.

Since I skipped City Folk I might be ready to dive back into AC and catch me some fish and dig up some bones, even if it is essentially the same game again with a couple additions.

@deathly_hallows

Me too. It's been 7 years since Wild World, so I feel like it's time to play a new AC. Plus AC is one game that I much prefer to play on a portable.

@deathly_hallows i hope this is sarcasm. this game looks to be a huge upgrade from the previous, minus the art direction.

@Scrawnton
Well I played Wild World but skipped City Folk because it look practically identical, same fish, same bugs, same fossils, same Tom Nook, same KK Slider, same flowers, same fruit, same... almost everything... I guess the city section was different, although weren't the shops the same as the town, like the hair salon?

The 3DS version looks like it might have a lot more new stuff, crafting items could be really cool, a new island to explore, and new mini-games, sweet! My point is that even if those additions and changes don't result in any radical shift in gameplay or mechanics it's been so long since I played the DS version I'll be ready to do the same things all over again. Hey Tom Nook, want me to work for you because I'm in debt? Okay! I'm ready!

Sounds more intriguing. I was on the fence since City Folk was such a let-down, but this seems like it will be right up my alley.

Co-op mini-games sounds neat!

What a blow out of info. This game has a TON. Did I miss it or is there no word yet voice chat during co-op? While WiiSpeak was far from perfect during play it was present and I hope they improve on it rather than drop it.

I can feel Mammamia's fangasm from here.

I'm starting to feel something for Animal Crossing again, after reading this. Seems like a good shake up to the formula.

@vids

I wonder about voice chat, too. At the very least, hopefully they keep in the "text chat" that Wild World on DS had.
