What a great idea for a game. Take a beloved title from years gone bye, and add-on chapters that we never saw before, almost a Fan Fic version of what happened or something. I really wish more games would do this. Furthermore, I wish more Final Fantasy games did this!

What are some games where this could REALLY be utilized well? Final Fantasy IV: The After Years has the group all split up; would you like to see it go this route with other games, or just another adventure with the group? Or would you maybe like to see a prequel where you have guys in a group doing their own thing before coming together in the end, as we see in Dragon Warrior IV? I dig this stuff, man.

(For others who are super excited about stuff like this, I'm reading "Before Watchmen" comic books right now, and you get to see -- from a different author than Alan Moore -- what the guys were up to before meeting up, and it is really quite enjoyable. Check it out if interested!)

And I had a question, haha. Sooo, I bought Rydia's Tale. Now, do I just start a brand new file, or do I have to link up from a previously finished file and load it from there..like going into Chapter 2 or something. Does that make sense? Really confused on the whole thing.

I believe only the end chapter links up to the previous ones. So when you buy a character's tale, you start a new file and they don't link up in any way between each other.

I really enjoyed the game as a whole but not sure if I really liked the new battle mechanic with the moon phases.

You'll have to buy all the tales separately to get the full game.

Oh, yeah, I know you have to buy them all to get the full game..but are they meant to be played as 10(?) individual games? Does no money or Items carry over or anything? If they're just supposed to be their own games with no "link" between them..thats something else, sure.

--And yeah, Moon stuff was a little goofy. I like them trying something new though without breaking the game.

The concept is definitely cool, Stache. I can't think at the moment how I would like to see this feature in other games, though you do have sequels for games that pick up right where the last one left off (like FE: Radiant Dawn)? And yeah, there have been prequels too, like Baten Kaitos Origins: you get to see some of the characters from the last game when they were younger. I'm sure there's a lot of other games, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Anyway, I had nearly forgotten about this game until I saw this thread; I really would like to play it someday, considering how much I loved FF IV.
