I've been enjoying this game lately as a means of introducing my wife to the AC series. I loved the GameCube version; it came at a perfect time in my life when I had moved out of my parents' place after college and had a place of my own (alone) for the first time (an amazing parallel to the 'story' in the game of having your own place and meeting new friends). It was very comforting, to say the least. I later went on to the DS version at one point, but the cart was lost/ stolen and I never got back into to it. So, regarding this Wii version: On the one hand, it's disappointing to see how little the game has evolved from the previous versions. I also visited the city; it seems cool but I think I'll enjoy the city more once I start making more cash. On the other hand, considering I haven't played an Animal Crossing game in years, it's been a lot of fun just 'playing' something so relaxing and having my own little world, especially now that I can share it with someone else. The Wii pointer really does make stuff a lot easier/ more fun, like drawing your own designs or typing on the keyboard. Our town (Suntown) is still quite young (we don't even have an axe yet to start cleaning up the some of the large clusters of non-fruit-bearing trees). Based on the database, quite a few of you own the game (25 or so); we would like to have you come visit us one day (and bring your fruit too! We only have oranges at the moment.). I still haven't upgraded my tiny, basic, house yet, but May did (ie she's been playing more than me). omg i love this game, haven't played in sometime. One thing i dread when hopping from the system to system with this game is the designing clothes. I work so hard at it making things and new game on new console means starting all over again. My niece started up again and I may go check out my town one of these days. I'm unsure if i'll add my friend code, I have to go look my town over first. I know my family and i have sick sense of humor so we change their sayings alot and sometimes write them evil/mean letters ,lol. @Snorlax To make money i replanted all my plain trees with the fruit NOT from my town. Therefore each time I shake a tree i make 500 a fruit. I kept the pines tho, cuz i like them with lights on them in winter. |

Alright, great to see more responses. I noticed my wife hadn't posted her friend code yet. I guess it's a matter of whether it's she or I who want to be the first from our town to interact with some of ya'll. @Mop it up: Cool, just let me know when's a good time to play, maybe some time Saturday? @heliumsky, Hope to see you out there one day! @wickedsymphony, Oh yeah, it's unfortunate that you start all over. I know City Folk lets you transfer stuff over from Wild World, but unfortunately hand-crafted patterns are not carried over. Let me know about the code after checking out your town! |
