Welcome to the official discussion thread for Animal Crossing: City Folk on the Wii!

To start, please add this game to your log, add it to your collection (if applicable), and (when you are ready) rate it using the link above!

I've been enjoying this game lately as a means of introducing my wife to the AC series. I loved the GameCube version; it came at a perfect time in my life when I had moved out of my parents' place after college and had a place of my own (alone) for the first time (an amazing parallel to the 'story' in the game of having your own place and meeting new friends). It was very comforting, to say the least. I later went on to the DS version at one point, but the cart was lost/ stolen and I never got back into to it.

So, regarding this Wii version: On the one hand, it's disappointing to see how little the game has evolved from the previous versions. I also visited the city; it seems cool but I think I'll enjoy the city more once I start making more cash.

On the other hand, considering I haven't played an Animal Crossing game in years, it's been a lot of fun just 'playing' something so relaxing and having my own little world, especially now that I can share it with someone else. The Wii pointer really does make stuff a lot easier/ more fun, like drawing your own designs or typing on the keyboard.

Our town (Suntown) is still quite young (we don't even have an axe yet to start cleaning up the some of the large clusters of non-fruit-bearing trees). Based on the database, quite a few of you own the game (25 or so); we would like to have you come visit us one day (and bring your fruit too! We only have oranges at the moment.). I still haven't upgraded my tiny, basic, house yet, but May did (ie she's been playing more than me).

oh, I wish I had time to play with you guys!

omg i love this game, haven't played in sometime. One thing i dread when hopping from the system to system with this game is the designing clothes. I work so hard at it making things and new game on new console means starting all over again. My niece started up again and I may go check out my town one of these days.
I'm unsure if i'll add my friend code, I have to go look my town over first. I know my family and i have sick sense of humor so we change their sayings alot and sometimes write them evil/mean letters ,lol.

@Snorlax To make money i replanted all my plain trees with the fruit NOT from my town. Therefore each time I shake a tree i make 500 a fruit. I kept the pines tho, cuz i like them with lights on them in winter.

Alright, great to see more responses. I noticed my wife hadn't posted her friend code yet. I guess it's a matter of whether it's she or I who want to be the first from our town to interact with some of ya'll.

@Mop it up: Cool, just let me know when's a good time to play, maybe some time Saturday?

@heliumsky, Hope to see you out there one day!

@wickedsymphony, Oh yeah, it's unfortunate that you start all over. I know City Folk lets you transfer stuff over from Wild World, but unfortunately hand-crafted patterns are not carried over. Let me know about the code after checking out your town!

@roykoopa64 I know I have something during the day on Saturday, but if you're around in the late evening, I will probably be able to pay you a visit.

Oh, I guess I should leave this here:
Code: 4470-8795-9625

hmm... if you guys want to do a virtual meetup sometime that would be fun.
Or I'll just leave my Wii logged in one day so that we can at least get the connection so that stuff can be sent!

(Wii) Animal Crossing: City Folk = 3523-5882-1423 (heli in Callisto)

@Mop it up and @heliumsky

Friend codes added!

@Mop it up, the game asked me to enter your name and your town name, so I left it blank for now. I don't know if that will be necessary before meeting up.

---

Yeah, right now Saturday is looking best. Snorlax will be at work pretty much the whole day Friday, but Saturday we will have more time to play some AC.

This is one of the silly things the people in my town say, that make us laugh really hard.

We got the saying from this vid on youtube that made us laugh. If you're not easily offended and don't mind weird things said, i can put my code up, But if you're sensitive, then I'll pass

I should have some gaming time on Saturday. I'll post my codes when I get home from work this evening.
10/12/12, 22:17
@roykoopa64 Yeah, the game will fill in those blanks after we meet for the first time.

@wickedsymphony Does this answer your question?

@Mop it up lol... that's up the alley of my brother. And his people spewed their stuff in my town too.
10/13/12, 03:08
LOL I really hope they keep the "learning new words" in Animal Crossing on 3DS and spread it like a virus of offensiveness throughout others towns in this utopian world of cuteness.
10/13/12, 03:10
@wickedsymphony

That's fine, haha, you can post your code.

@cooliocuneo

Cool.
10/13/12, 08:01
Wii code: 4316 6809 5299 9576
A/C code:3953 0813 4099
John in Rivendel

I've added everyone above. And yes, although I'm 38 years old, I have an extremely childish/crude sense of humor when it comes to teaching my villagers new words
10/13/12, 08:17
Oh yeah, my friend code is 2967-6349-8781. I'm 'Mei' in Suntown.

@wickedsymphony, yes, we just got a couple of the fruits, good suggestion. Hopefully Suntown will get some more fruits today! And I want to see the lights on the pine trees, I love Christmas time.
10/13/12, 22:15
Later this evening is still looking like a good time for us. I don't know what time yet, I'll post again later!

Oh, and I added everyone's codes to the OP! Let me know if I missed anyone.

@cooliocuneo

Hhm, I don't think we need to exchange Wii system codes. The AC code is sufficient, as far as I know.
10/13/12, 22:52
We're up for Animal Crossing between now and the next 3 hours or so if anyone wants to play! (Depending on any replies, I may leave for an hour to hit the home gym a bit).
10/14/12, 03:55
I'll pay you a visit in about 15 minutes or so.
10/14/12, 04:06
@Mop it up

Cool, I'll open the gate soon. I forgot to ask you, but can you bring some non-oranges, and maybe an axe and a watering can? It's been hard getting stuff from Nook's at this stage in the game. Thanks in advance!
10/14/12, 04:10
@roykoopa64Sure, I've got everything you need! Well, maybe. I'll see what tools he's selling. But I have all the fruits!
10/14/12, 04:23
Whatever you have is great.
