"To their DOOOOOM?" Oh no, whats supposed to happen in there?! Nothing happened to me!!

Also, I asked Lou, and I saw you posted a little to gojira about the virucide; sooo, how do I know how much I have? I don't see any on me (though I initially extracted some via The Good Doctor, as I'll call him.) Does it basically work like the knives in Resident Evil? Can you have several "fillings" of it, or just one syringe at a time?

@Mr_Mustache
Sorry Mustache, the doom thing was just an attempt at a joke about how easy it is to die in the game at times.

The virucide isn't shown in the normal inventory, but instead on the equipment screen with the rest of your tools and quest items. It works like the knife in Resident Evil, yeah. When you're grabbed by an infected you'd normally just have to watch yourself get bitten, but if you press the attack button when you have a virucide shot you'll shove it into your attacker's neck, kill them, and live to get bitten another day. You only have the one syringe, so when you've used it once you'll need to find another virucide positive corpse to extract more from.

Ahhhh, alright, so kinda like the Riddler guys in Arkham City, and not EVERYONE is a carrier?

@Mr_Mustache
Yeah, kinda like that, except less predictable when it comes to finding, I guess. Only certain infected carry the virucide in their glands, and they'll appear to have a greenish glow when looked at through your scanner, as well as being labelled "virucide positive".

I like that it instantly tells you if they're a carrier when you go to Loot them! I go for the Loot by default, so I feel as if I'll never miss one. Can you destroy an Infected so much that you CAN'T extract Virucide?

And after I got jumped from behind in so-and-so's basement, I've been smooshing heads of guys just laying there. Makes me feel kinda weird..but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

Picked up a new Carbine last night. Does it use the same ammo? I'll guess "yes?"

Is there any reason to carry the old one?

OH, and I've "discovered" that those on fire (and they carry weapon upgrades!!) Infected are STUPID RESILIENT. What is the best way to handle them? Shotgun Shotgun, cross your fingers?

@Mr_Mustache
Head smooshing is one of my primary survival tactics! Trust nobody. Or rather, no body. Ahem, I'll show myself out.

Also yes, all weapons of the same type use the same ammunition, so your carbine ammo will work for all carbines.

There might be reasons to carry the old one, like if you already have it loaded up with ammo that will go unused otherwise, but generally speaking what you find later will be better in many ways. This is not always the case, though, so I suggest you check your respective weapons' stats by a work bench or try them out a little bit in order to find out which one suits your playstyle and situation best. I mean, maybe the new gun you find is more powerful, but it could also be less accurate, and so on.

Personally I prefer to snipe those infected down from a distance to make sure I don't get any unpleasant surprises, but if that's not possible any powerful weapon should do the trick, if you don't want to get up close and personal with them.

@r_hjort

How do you use / un-use the scope? I got stuck with the Hunting Crossbow zoomed in, and I really did not like it. And when I WANTED to use it another time, I couldn't! BAGS.

--C4: is it limited?? I took out the place in Brick Lane Markets to find some of Dee's Letters and a Gun Upgrade (thanks, graffiti! Might've been Roy.), but now I've realized I only have 2 Charges remaining. Oh no!

I'm a bad person to ask about controls since I tend to forget about how it works once muscle memory kicks in, but I think you activate the scope feature by raising up the GamePad when you take aim, and de-activate it by tilting it back down again. Salt shaker out, though.

You should be able to get more C4 than that, but it might not always be easy to find.

OHHH. That makes sense. I kinda have it at a 40 degree angle when I play, so I may've had it up kinda. I play with my knees to my chest because I'm scared!

And I asked about that other stuff because I didn't want to screw myself over, as you can with Keys in Zelda sometimes, ya know?
10/24/13, 21:05
@Mr_Mustache
Yeah, I'm constantly afraid of that sort of thing in games. Getting locked out of stuff because I was wasteful or didn't pay attention, or whatever.
10/24/13, 21:11
@r_hjort

I'm the kinda person that goes "oh, I have this upgrade now? I should go back and get all that stuff I couldn't get before." My eyes got REALLY wide when I deciphered that...language that I'd been seeing everywhere, on paintings and doors and such. I know where I WANT to go right now..and its probably where I HAVE to go anyways, haha!
10/24/13, 21:18
@Mr_Mustache
Oh yeah, that's a cool upgrade! Some neat stuff to be done with that for sure!

@r_hjort

Are you planning on doing a Survivor Run in the next few months? Perhaps we can start on the same day and help each other out with hints and reminders. AND SPRAY PAINT STUFF.
10/25/13, 02:34
@Mr_Mustache
Sure! I've been meaning to (and trying to) do a survivor run ever since I beat the regular mode, so I'm game.
10/25/13, 12:11
@r_hjort

Alright..I'll need some downtime though. January, maybe?
10/26/13, 01:56
@Mr_Mustache
Sure, that's as good a preliminary date as any!
10/26/13, 12:07
@r_hjort

I figure there won't be too much stuff going on as far as Game Club things go, and the initial Christmas Week "gotta play it, gotta play it now" may be over, or played enough that you can take a break and feel OK about it.

I should be done with Batman then, too. Not sure about 3D World, but that isn't a "play it every single day" kinda game, at least not in our house.

What level are you going to play on? I might dial it back to Easy for the Survivor run.
10/27/13, 00:23
@Mr_Mustache
Survival mode is its own difficulty, so there's no easy mode there, I'm afraid! All or nothing, baby!
