Don't forget to add you interesting and unique content to this page. I DO have this game preordered; however, it will easily go up on the chopping block if we find out it is not a stong $60 value closer to launch. Still, I like the idea of a true survival horror where your inventory only transfers over if you are able to retrieve it (some people here know my love for demon's souls and dark souls).

I created this mainly to post this new interview I found by the story designer of Zombi U. Sounds really cool with branching storylines, do you want to get stocked up and wait for it to all blow over? Help a doctor find a cure? Escape with another group of survivors? It seems the choice is yours. They also discuss the inspiration for the game, what a job it must be just watching and reading all that Zombie material.

@warerare im at work so i cant watch the interviews, but does the game work like this: the game starts and there are zombies everywhere, do what you want to do.

@Scrawnton

I think there is a narrative structure to the game but it seems to be based more on which group do you want to join/help (It would be nice if you could abandon a route at anytime and join another group but I am not sure if that is the case. Whether everything is open to you from the get go is a mystery, I imagine different areas will open as you progress. She mentions in the interview that the game starts with the old school shambling Zombies but as the game progresses they start to grow more intelligent and ruthless, climbing ladders and opening doors etc...

The interest in this game at Eurogamer was suprising. More people wanted to try this than any other WiiU game by a mile! I didn't want to spend 3 hours in line, so skipped it.

Wow. Those interviews got me extra excited for this. I was scared about what would happen when you died after all the "game over" talk, but the comparison to a relay race... me likey.

It makes me mad to see this game have such a unique and fun take on horror survival. Mainly b/c I know I wont purchase the title b/c I'm a big wuss when it comes to horror. You know how you can zombify your own face using the WUG camera? What if you can import your own face into your game and into your friend's games?!? Ultra creepy.

@Abdooooo the only time horror games bug me is when they are a complete pain to play, like resident evil one and fragile. those games scare me because of their tank controls. I think if zombi u controls like a standar fps, it wont be as bad because it wont be hard to avoid the terror.

@Scrawnton

I hear ya. Maybe its time I try survival horror again. I mean the last time I really tried playing was A LONG TIME AGO. I'm talking the first Resident Evil. I'll never forget it...walking through a corridor and SMASH! A mutant comes barreling through the window. On second thought, maybe I'll just read your impressions...

I'm actually really interested in what the music will be like. I hope it's less like Dead Space's unrelatable heavy horror chords and more like an 80's Romero or Argento film. I'm not really holding my breath though. It'd just be super nice to have it sound like 80's zombie movies like Zombi (c'mon, they share the same name!) or Day Of The Dead with the nice synth sounds.

I know that's very wishful thinking though. I expect the kinda generic "epic" style music or Dead Space style at best. Doesn't suit it as we'll though.

I'd have thought this thread would make more sense after the game releases. Definite launch day though, I expect it to at least be a 8/10 game. That's good enough for me. Anything more is gravy. Doubt a sequel would be exclusive too though.

I thought it would be applicable now I mean I always see game discussions in 3 parts, the lead up, just released and a few months later once the hype has died down. It will be interesting to see how this game turns out and whether it is still very much playable a few months down the road. I expect some very heated discussion but for now most people are excited right? well at least intrigued? I think this is certainly the most discussable upcoming title anyway.

@carlosrox im hoping there is NO music, except contextual music, like coming from a real radio. a game like this only needs silence and the noise of the real atmosphere.

@Scrawnton
That could be cool too if done right. It needs to have exceptional sound design to avoid feeling too barren though. Dead Space, Doom 3, and Black Mesa come to mind. The only one of those 3 though that had little to no music was Doom 3. Though I guess Dead Space and Black Mesa have their prolonged lulls as well.

It depends though of course. Could go either way. Music could spoil it or save it.

Have we heard music in the game yet? I forget. Wait, yeah we have. In Buckingham Palace I remember hearing this nonstop Piano, or organ, I forget which.

Here is a video with only game audio.

@thefly

What in particular do you like about it?
10/01/12, 21:53
It looks cool. It still hasn't proven itself but I'm almost certain it won't be another Red Steel.
10/01/12, 22:42
@carlosrox
Red Steel never got ported, come to think of it...

@Anand
Huh?

This game looks excellent. Tower of London looks like a cool stage.
