Alright, Jargaroo, I'm well past where you left off (and still playing). I found an Arena / Underground Monster Fighting Ring and I've spent a lot of my time doing that. Just beefin' up on my Armor and stuff. (Level 9 w/ me currently, my other guys are 10 for some reason). What guys did they give you off the bad? I wonder if we have different people or if they're stock. --And off of your link, here is the General DWIII section on that site. Great for Weapons, Armor, etc. that would've been included with the game. Dig it. |

The game gives you the freedom to do whatever you want, so you can use whichever characters you desire. Some people forgo parties all together and beat the game using just the Hero, but you're probably looking for an easier time than that. What classes are you currently using? I picked a soldier, pilgrim, and wizard, and I got through the game without much trouble.
The soldier has high attack and HP, and can equip the high defence armours. It levels up slighter faster than other classes. However, it's slow, so it won't be defeating enemies before they attack as it almost always goes last in a turn. It has no magic so it isn't good for support. Equipment for it can also be expensive. Still, it packs a serious punch, so it's worth having around.
The fighter also has high attack, however it doesn't have as much HP as the soldier and can't equip the good armours. It does have much better speed however, as well as more crits, and so it may not get hit as much as a soldier if it attacks first. Fighters will be weak in the early game but can become very strong later on. No magic for a fighter either.
The merchant has average stats and will be decent in the beginning of the game, however it will soon be outclassed by everyone else, so I don't recommend using one much. It can help you make money and that's all it's good for. You'll need a merchant to progress in the story at one point, however you can just create a new one when the time comes.
The pilgrim is a good class to have, it learns a lot of healing and support spells and has decent MP. Its attack isn't too shabby either, though it should stick with support in big battles. The game's a lot harder without a pilgrim, you don't want to rely on your Hero, who is also a great attacker, for your healing.
The wizard learns some pretty powerful spells and has high MP, however it has low attack. It has decent agility which gives it decent raw defence, however it can't equip much armour so it's still weak. A wizard can be useful in some situations, such as attacking a large group of enemies with multi-hit spells, but having a soldier or fighter in its place can still be effective. The choice is yours.
The goof-off acts on its own accord, you can't control what it does. It may seem useless, but later on in the game you can change it into the best class in the game. |
